okay, a few pointers about how to improve the Wikis, because at the moment, a few of them are in a sorry state.

• semiprotect some pages- i.e meaning that any edit by members must be confirmed by a Wiki Staff member before it is added and or modified.
• the inclusion of writing from official sources, such as the game story, the manual, etc. - it was one of the reasons I was unceremoniously dropped from the Sonic staff, due to some of my work being taken from manuals, and others from my own work on other sites.
• a proper FAQ for the Wikis must be created and must be read before a member edits a page. the amount of sloppy mistakes on the Wikis could be avoided by people actually reading a FAQ.

An FAQ is in the works, but it could take a while since Krunal and I are both busy and haven't had much time to get together with what should be included. As for official sources, that's already allowed. What isn't allowed is using work from sites other than official sites even if it's your own due to copyright conflicts. If people are causing trouble with their edits to pages, they will be watched closely by a wiki staff member or admin or blocked entirely for a period of time based on the severity of the vandalism.

it's not that they're causing trouble per se, it's just that some of their edits are really bad (to say it quite frankly). I know some members contributing are young and immature, but surely there has to be standards? I think staff should have the ability to semi protect pages where members are creating below par edits, to try and encourage a better page creation and modification ethos.

Text from official sources is allowed, but I still urge contributors to include their OWN text on top of snippets of official text. Key zer and I already exchanged some Wiki Talk regarding using a line like:

From the official _____ manual:

before the official text segment and it works well.

In response to Avalith's statements: the site that content was submitted to doesn't have a copyright on the content, does it, especially since it's the authors original work. If that's true, and a site does claim it, the author could sue for massive dollar. I'm quite sure that, unless you sign an online or mutual use agreement, it doesn't belong to anyone but the author.

I think the Neoseeker NeoWiki would be a fantastic place to begin creating a comprehensive FAQ.
