I have two master leagues going - one normal, and one in which I play one player only (midfield). You might call it 'player-manager mode'. There are many benefits to playing this way - for a start, it adds to the realism. You really have to be patient, economical with energy, intelligent off the ball, and generally work hard to put yourself in the right place at the right time. You have to time your runs accurately to stay onside, and create space on the pitch. Great fun. It's deeper from a managerial perspective too. It takes a while to get used to not having the ball all the time, but patience is rewarding.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else is into playing this way. My ultimate online dream is to have a whole team of individual players, each controlled by one person - kind of like taking the 2P co-operative mode to a whole new level. There would be 10 players plus one manager (goalies would be computer controlled) - so it would be 11 vs 11. I have it all mapped out in my head, a working model for this whole online league, if only it were feasible. But maybe it is?

Does anyone think it is possible (technology wise) and would anyone else go for this if it were presented as a possibility?

Its a brilliant idea, i've played 8 man fixed round my mates house and that was probably the best game of pes i've ever played.

Technology wise, i dont believe its possible. Even with fast connections you get lag with only 2 players. Although something for the future.

This could be a great idea for a online and offline competition... select a team to play as, and then select the player in that team you want to be.

Not only would it show your 'individual' skills, but also your management skills.

As the moment i'm doing an friendly game, England vs France, and i'm Robinson in goal (!), and I'm really enjoying it (but sad to can't tell him to dive!)

Having "pesathons" as me and my mates have come to call them are fantastic. Weve tried to win the world cup only controlling one player each (fix). Its damn hard but the reward when you win it is insumountable. hours of fun.

Greatest achievement - World Cup win as Wales. 4 of us all playing "fix" on 5*. Try it youll see why were so proud of it.

Can you play that way in normal Master League, not online??

You can play up to 8 players on one side in master league but that gets a bit boring and your always arguing about which players to sign. But online you can only play a max of two on the same team, which is a shame cos me n my mates would love to take you all on.

Very good thinking, a while back my mate was planning a world cup were we would have 11 of us on the same team against the computer, he never got round to it though, i'd better remind him.

I've only used fix player mode once or twice, and i did find it quite fun, it is better when theres more of you though.

I think its because its only accessible on the PSP.

The best thing to do is to create yourself and play on fixed. Especially if you get a group of you in the World Cup all controlling yourselves. Next best thing to actually playing for England. Pretty difficult to actually win the World Cup though, as the computer controlled players on your own team seem a bit thick.

Think the best we did was make it to the semi's, and got knocked out. I was secretly pleased though as I'd have missed the final through the 2 bookings = suspension (which surely must be changed in future games to 3 bookings?)

So to create yourself in the game you have to change a edit a crap player into yourself then put the stats up as you see fit. But where is player manager mode? Or was I right in saying its on PSP only?
