I have a question about the new Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Speakers....
|
I am mainly interested in getting the most out of my gaming experience. I have the SB 5.1 Live card and am wondering exactly what speakers I should go for. I have read that the Klipsch 4.1 speakers are a good choice for gaming, but what about the Klipsch 5.1s? Would that 5th speaker really make a difference? In one of the other posts I read that the VideoLogic Sicorro Crossfire speakers are good for all around everyone. I mainly care about gaming, but I do like to occassionally listen to music and watch DVDs. How much are the Crossfires anyways? Thanks.

I'm sorry, that question wasn't really about the Klipsch Speakers. Oh well.

Sirocco,Crossfire and Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 and 4.1
|
If you will play games and listen to MP3's most of the time then the ProMrdia 4.1 will do a good job.
If you also listen alot to music on your computer may I recomend the Monsoon MM2000 its a great sounding 4.1 speaker system. And with plenty of power too.
Now if you will use your system as a DVD player then the Klipsch 5.1 add a center channel and more power, lower bass to the game.Good choice if you value BIG BASS.
If accuracy is what you are after then the VideoLogic Crossfire 4.1 system is head and shoulders above the rest. Quality drivers and amplification make a great sounding music and game system.Even DVD's in 4.1 will sound very good.My personal fave as far as price/performance goes.
And then you have the VideoLogic DTS,all the goods from the Crossfire(minus the nice outboard integrated amp)plus decoder and center channel. The sub also uses a very high-quality Audax 8" driver in the sub.Power, quality and features all here.Price is around 500-$600 depending where you buy the system.
And then we have the Sirocco and Sirocco PRO,two of the finest music PC systems.I have the PRO and all I can tell you is this set is ALL about quality of drivers, materials used and the amp/DAC module. And the asking price reflects this at $900 you get what you pay for.Even conectivity used for the sats and sub is of good quality. If you want the best and can spare $900 then its a shure hit. From the tight bass to the grain free highs you get a mini High-End system. For under a grand.
And the AE Aego, this is a system a la Cambridge Micro Works with much better sound quality. Its not the blast a ton type.Second only to the Sirocco Pro in musicality and the most compact system you can find. The sats are tiny,I mean small like you would not belive. And the big soundstage they create is awesome.Overall great micro music system.$600
This is it,if quality you want above you will look.
