i've got 6 or 7 xbox games and still NONE of them r compatible with the 360 the 360 backwards compatibility sucks big time.... n there r some games that shouldn't even b on the list (i.e barbie) WTF is that on the list for???? lol

I downloaded the latest Backwards compatability update, burned it onto a cd-r (no error messages came up during the process) and then loaded the cd into my 360 and the message kept coming up 'disc is unreadable, please wipe with a soft cloth and restart' so I tried it on a completely different disc just to check if the first was flawed and got the same message.
Anyone know how to put this right? I've got a nagging suspicion I'm making a really obvious mistake and a bit of Ultimate Spiderman would be just the thing over Christmas. Cheers

Check the disk tray.

If you have Live it would automatically download an update for you. If not you're going to have to go to the xbox website and download the update to burn onto a CD.

Is there a way to link the PC to xbox and transfer the update by that, or even by usb as my comp can't burns CD's and i dunno when ill get live.

Man, this update thing sucks. I loathe having to mess with more wires for compatibility that should've been there in the first place. Meh. At least I kept my Xbox.

Why the *bleep* aren't either Brothers in Arms games on the list? They'd put a Barbie game on the 360 before they'd put the highest rated WW2 shooter ever? That makes no sense. It better be in the next update or I'm gonna be pissed.

Hahahaha- ah, I'm sorry, but I couldn't help it. Xbox has a rep for being slightly more adult/older-oriented than Gamecube/xbox, yet there, Barbie adventures... I'm sorry, but you have to see the irony.

Simpler programming for the most part. That's why the better games tend to have been left off.

Quick question. I had my 360 at a friends online during christmas and updated my console so I could play a little Counterstrike, but I'm no longer online right now. Does the update apply to all the games or are there seperate updates for each game? If I was to get BF: 2 right now and pop it in would it work without saying I have to update something or be connected to Live? Any help is appreciated.

When you get an update, you get the update. It is saved onto the hard memory of the console. When you get the update, you download data which makes all of the game profiles in the list in the first post of this thread compatible. So essentially - if that was the first time you got the update, that has made just short of 300 Xbox titles available. And any games that didn't work before now will, given they are on the list.


Battlefield 2 is not on the list. So it will not be compatible. But that doesn't mean it never will be. Every now and then they add a few titles to the list. Since that is a popular game it probably will be added soon. So keep up to date on the new list whenever it comes out.


Unless you was talking about Star Wars: Battlefront 2? In which case you can play it.
