But I went back after you said that...read a comic book (all of it) and that video was awesome

Looks like another game I'll have to get to put me in the poor house.

You can obviously tell that RE4 did better with the non fans of the series since it dumped the old school style (which was like so much better) and put in a new aged easy to pick up and handle gameplay engine (which is pretty sweet but still doesn't seem to fit in really with the old school games)


RE5 looks like it'll take it to even greater hights since it won't be limited to this years tech, and I would like to see for the 360 version some XBL DLC like extra costumes or add ons to the single player game, hell maybe even a multiplayer function.

Well yes it is a continuation only with a new main character (which resembles that of Chris Redfield, instead of Leon S. Kennedy)

Although im really curious as to why Chris would be in a middle eastern like city as last Claire and Chris were going to finish off Umbrella for good but in RE4 Umbrella was already destroyed and finished but at the end you learn that Albert Wesker along with Ada Wong's help have retreived all known viruses in the RE universe including the Las Plagas in RE4, so that Wesker may revive Umbrella as he see it fit.

yeah and RECVX really didn't help progress the story at all, it was just about Claire finding Chris and about a weird cross dressing freak who was madly obsessed with his sister that he in fact tried to be her

The old cam angles weren't bad at all and if you learned to play the game they didn't bother you at all. Hell yeah they run fast reminds me of Dawn of the Dead (new age DotD) where all the zombies could run uber fast and with them being in hordes this should make for many panicky moments where you feel over whelmed and screaming "oh Sh!t" left and right.

I wonder what other types of weird creatures we shall see this time and who the main villian shall be (please to god let it be wesker)

Dude, I've been playing Resident Evil for about three years, and the new style of gameplay they incorporated in RE4 totally ownz everything before that. That sucky joystick turn-and-run crap sucked.

Yes it did, it gave me arthritis....The new over-the-shoulder cam pwnz...

Three years... that isn't a very long time to have been a RE fan. That sucky joystick turn and run crap is what helped make it Resident Evil. The developers were able to use movie style camera angles to help induce a sense of tension and claustrophobia at times. It was a really simple control scheme if you could just figure out that pushing forward meant walking forward and realizing the orientation of the character on the screen and which was their left or right side and then pressing in the corresponding direction to turn.

You probably still haven't figured out that when you're facing someone their right arm is not on the same side as yours is.

Plus I miss the puzzles, I'm no puzzle gamer but that was always an element that fit in well with the mystery and deceit behind Umbrella and everything. Secret doors, passages, keys on dogs necks etc.

Don't get me wrong, RE4 is still an awesome game but it didn't have any of the creepiness like the other ones did. RE has never really been scary but RE4 came off as awesome instead of say, spooky.

RE5 looks to reinstate that sense of spookiness judging by all the extremely dark places. Also, from the video are we supposed to think that all those birds were making it so dark but they later flew away and let the sun shine in? Crazy!
