I'm not sure if you can do it with the free trial to Netflix, but I would guess you could.

Try the free trial.
Watch things like Trainspotting, the Machinist, Shutter Island, The Fighter, Zach Galifanackis live at the Purple Onion, The Fighter, etc. Also watch T.V. shows like 30 Rock, Spider-Man, X-Men, Futurama, etc.
You'll be hooked.

Do you need to give them your card details to start the free trial or does it just stop working after 30 days?

You have to give them your details but you can just cancel it after 30 days if you don't want it. I can pretty much guarantee you'll want it though. My xbox has turned into a Netflix machine over the last month, and with the amount of content on it now, considering the fact that they've said they only have a fraction of what they want on it, I'm eager to see what'll come of it when everyone's free trial runs out and we all start paying haha.

yeah unfortunately they are only SLOWLY adding stuff to streaming. i dont know how long it takes to add 1 movie but it seems like they could have a good fraction of the company working on nothing but that, to get content out really fast. i cant count how many times ive looked for something specific and it wasnt available yet.

It's worth every dime. Though, if you have a PS3 or recent blu-ray player or newfangled TV you can get it through those without having to pay for Xbox Live. You can also get it on a Wii, but no HD so *bleep* that.
I like the Xbox interface the best though, so if you find Xbox Live Gold worth it, then that's the best way to go.

Speaking of which, I just watched Billy Madison and Bad News Bears. Watching movies like those are the reason Netflix is great.

They really need to add more films to the UK library! I know it's early days for it here but I don't really feel like paying until they add a better selection.

Totally agree with you Reason. The quality of video is good and streaming seems pretty flawless but the library just isn't up to scratch yet. There's some good movies in it but not enough and it's been bulked up with far too much crap. Have yet to find a movie in the library I've searched for, which sums it up.

Honestly, the US selection for movies isn't all that great either. Where Netflix really shines is in TV shows. Practically every TV show on US television is on Netflix. At least in part, as episodes for ongoing shows take a while to appear after they're debuted.
