A Hard Question For The Community. |
|
Now I'm no pro, but what would you say makes someone hardcore? I'm going to be starting all over again XBL wise, so I'll have no games, no Gamerscore or anything. 1) Is xXx(Insertname)xXx really that attractive? I don't hate it but it's becoming a very popular fad and I wonder if that helps give someone a pro impression. 2) Is it the collection of games? Is having a huge collection of mainstream games like Modern Warfare, Halo, Gears Of War & Borderlands better so that your history is filtered, so that people can't spot a Spider-Man game you might own? Stuff like this, what makes you look pro? (Other than calling every frickin person noob I mean) -------------------

Having an "xXx(Insertname)xXx" only shows that you're extremely unoriginal.
I have a lot of games, too. But I'm far from pro. I don't think that has anything to do with it. How to be a "Hardcore Gamer" -Drink lots of Mountain Dew. -Tell everyone you kill how much they suck. Especially if they almost kill you in the process. -Friends? Who needs 'em? -Listen to heavy metal -Save money for more video games by living in your parents' basement. This also gives you more time to play games, as you don't need a job. All you have to put up with is the growing dissapointment your family will feel for you. -Shop at Hot Topic -Watch lots of anime. quote AudioslaveNo, it is not. I remember when people originally did that to distinguish their gamertags as being a part of a clan, but since so many people do that now, it's impossible to tell. To me, a pro gamer as a particular game is somebody would completed as many achievements for that one particular game. It's not so much how many games they've played, but how successful they are at one. I know some people who are great at Halo, but do poorly in COD games, and vice versa. ------------------- Tomorrow there will be no shortage of volunteers. No shortage of patriots. I'm not saying you're not good, I don't even know how good you are, but practise and become good at a select few chosen games (preferably big-name titles with plenty of players online), and you will earn any respect you want. Having a 1337 name and a xXx tag does not make people think you are any better than you are.
As to your game collection, there's nothing wrong with having less mainstream games on your profile; in fact, it can be a sign you're an avid gamer and don't just buy FIFA and COD each year, and call yourself a "pro". As long as you havn't got all the achievements for Viva Pinyata: Party Animals or spend your days getting High Scores on "Hannah Montana Sing-Along" or such-like, you should be fine! ------------------- ![]() It has finally happened. In my opinion, the 'hardcore' or better gamers are the one's who are just naturally good at the game, play for fun and don't trash talk. I've only ever met 1 team of people like this in a year and they were awesome.

I always thought a hardcore gamer was some one who just liked to play games and has played them for a long time. No matter if you play Gears of War, Viva Pinata, or Street Fighter if you play it a lot and love it, then you are a hardcore gamer in my mind. But if you want to look cool, just have a gamertag that you like.
Now if you want my opinion, stay away from the xxx____xxx sort of name. My cousin pays to change his name every two weeks and always has those damn x's. It just seems annoying to me and now when I see similar names, I see some one who probably is a jerk. Now while that's not fair and my cousin is not a jerk in person, online he feels the need to curse a lot. So those sort of names give me a bad impression. ------------------- ![]()

your entire post makes you look like a huge douche bag... the fact that you are going to start a new account just to "look pro" to everyone else is really *bleep*ing pathetic... i can't even tell you how hard you fail for this post.
i have a strong feeling this is a flame bait, and if so, you got me... good for you. but i'll answer, no matter how pathetic your goal may be... xXx______________xXx *bleep*ing stupid as hell, and i'm sure just about everyone here will agree people generally only give shit about the games on your list when they are ones that you obviously only played to get more gamer score. -------------------

Mud alot of your posts generally do not add anything to the conversation and to post something like that is another example. You could have said what you wanted to say without being a "douche bag" and without the profanity and general bad attitude.

quote MuD3xLike Avatar: The Last Airbender? Man, I reckon 99% of the people who played that played it for the achievements... If I see that on someone's achievement list, I immediately think "achievement whore". Most likely they paid some on eBay to get the 1000 points for them (which, incidently, takes 59 seconds!), who subsequently hacked all of their accounts on everything! ------------------- ![]() It has finally happened.
