Neoseeker reviews Dragon Age: Origins
|
Morning everyone,
Some of you already knew we were reviewing this game, so here's our Dragon Age: Origins review for the Xbox 360. Looks like a must-buy for lots of people, especially RPG fans. If you're not used to some of the classic RPGs, this might be a little tougher than expected, but we encourage you to try anyway.
Have a read, share your thoughts!Neoseeker reviews Dragon Age: OriginsMod Edit: Nov 05, 09 by Redemption

Solid review. How would you say this game compares to other titles that Bioware has released? Are we there with Baldur's Gate and NWN, or are the differences to great to tell? Thanks.
Either way, this game shall be mine. Now I just have to select the console. Still leaning towards the box, considering my PS3 is a Demon's Souls machine at this point. And for the DLC.

I think if you are familiar with other BioWare games, then this will not catch you by surprise. Otherwise, I'd say they drew a little bit from every game, which is pretty awesome for BioWare fans.
It feels a lot more complex, gameplay-wise, if only because of all the skills and job classes you might typically find any high fantasy game. Nothing to sweat over if you know your way around RPGs / MMOs.
Great game, love it lots. The free DLC = win.

It's a good review, but it also makes me realize I'd actually need time to be able to play it. >> maybe in 2010 when things slow down.
It's good to see that it's a tribute in a sense to all the work they've done, taking those pieces and bringing them all together in a presentation that sweeps players into a world that will remove them from friends and family for weeks to come.

Question.....not sure if any of you will know this, but I pre-ordered the PS3 collector's ed. It doesn't release until November 17th?? That's what's reported on Amazon....and yet you can't order that version from anywhere else.
No details on their website either. I'm starting to think there's some fishiness going on here. Any word from Bioware on this Lydia?

I'd guess they have limited copies (less demand so less supply) and are giving them all to Amazon.

More likely that the PS3 development is trickier than 360 - Sony won't generally release the internal dev specs on their box so it's harder to work with and takes extra tweaking in the final stretch. Solid review Lydia, I'm really looking forward to playing this one. Cheers, Adrian

It's the collector's edition we're talking about here gentleman. Regardless of console, the CE has been pushed back to the 17th while the standard edition has been released 2 weeks prior. Doesn't sound right to me, but that seems to be how it is for everyone who ordered the CE on consoles so far. Edit: There seems to be mass confusion among various distributors. Some are getting copies, some aren't. It doesn't make much sense to me, but I guess I will have to just eat it and wait until the 17th. Edit: Nov 03, 09

I think the CE's were pre-ordered out of existence. So they're making more. Mine shipped today.

Ok a little clarification would be nice, do ALL NEW copies get the DLC or is it only a pre-order bonus? Or is it only from specific retailers? Thanks in advance

You're a lucky man my friend, and I'm an unlucky little shit. I pre-ordered in Sept and even paid for expedited shipping. Guess the joke's on me!! Enjoy the game! Hopefully I will be joining you in a couple of weeks!!
