Trading in games

Well this girl gave me CoD 4 for free because I asked. When I opened it she had purposely put in a PS3 version in a 360 case to make me mad I guess. Anyway I called gamestop and to get a 360 version I'd have to trade it in. I'd get 16 dollars and I'd need about another 30 just to buy it for the 360. I don't see why they can't just swap them, or swap them and add a small fee rather than do that, because now I'm stuck with a PS3 version. So basically why do they do that, and does anyone else think it's annoying as I do?

Because it's GameStop. GameStop has probably the shittest exchange policy I've ever seen.

your lucky you got it for free, just trade it in and pay the rest, for everyone else here, if they wanted cod 4, they wouldnt get a $16 discount, so yeah youd be getting it much cheaper anyway, unless you could ask your friends if they have a copy they dont use and would trade for your ps3 version.

It was a girl at my school, not from gamestop. And I know they have to make money, but it'd the same exact game, and it's in perfect shape too, surprisingly. I'd understand if there was like a $10 exchange fee but I don't like making up the whole difference. Oh well.
