	Log in to remove this sponsored message Alright, to get it straight, I have a PS3 at the moment. I plan on getting the 360 to play 360 exclusive games, and to take part in the 360's Arcade, which I think is a brilliant idea. All games that come out equally on the 360 and PS3 I'll buy on the PS3. What's all this about Elite packs etc.? Apparently some come with hard-drives. But I plan on using my PS3 as a Home Entertainment System as well as a gaming console. So I dunno. The things I want to know are; (All prices are in Australian dollars) - I'm looking at buying the 360 for $367, on sale for Christmas. Good? - I'm also looking to get X-Box Live, how much does it cost? I've heard about Silver and Gold and all that jazz, but have no idea what it all means. - I'm also going to buy Castle Crashers off the 360 Arcade. Anything to do with prices that I should know about it? Oh, I almost forgot, any games you guys would recommend? I don't like Halo much (Learning curve's too steep, I've already been through this on RESISTANCE 1's Online, I don't want to go through it again.) I'm a bit iffy on GoW, as third-person shooters are a bit shoddy in my books. I've experienced Left 4 Dead, and I can honestly say that I don't like it at all. The reason I'm getting a 360, is majority of my mates have them, and the few mates that have PS3's have moved on to PC gaming, so I don't have anyone to play online with. Another point, is that Sony are letting Microsoft kick them in the teeth when it comes to marketing and securing exclusives. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Until Sony pick up their act anyway. 	I could be wrong (And I'm sure someone will correct me if I am) but: Core and Arcade systems don't come with a HDD. The Premium and Elite do come with a HDD. I've probably missed one out there but whatever. You can get a 20GB HDD or a 60GB HDD with the Premium, but I think the Elite comes with a 120GB. I think the Elite also has some HD thing implemented, I've not read into it too much though. Whether the price is good or not depends on the system and if there's any games/accessories with it. XBL Silver is where you can't play with people online. You can download content and have a private chat with one person, but you're unable to join a part of several people. Gold is everything. Download what you want, join parties, play people online etc.

	theres a deal in Australia at eb for a 60 gig 360 for around 400 with an extra 4 games. Being at Eb games, it is most likely a rip, so you could most probably get a better deal at jb hi fi I was thinking about getting a 360, but then gaming would consume my life, a ps3 and a wii is all i need Just wish i had halo 3 and fable 2 as i played halo 2 and fable to death on my xbox.

	I was looking at the Pro Pack at the local Big W, it's $367 for a 60 gig H-Drive, with two games. Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones. I'll hand them both in at EB for store credit. -------------------

	The premium's the best bet if you plan to be downloading stuff. Main differences with Elite is elite's black, elite has 60GB more hdd space and the elite comes with a hdmi cable whereas the premium comes with component (they're both HD cables). As for buying off of Live, you gotta buy Microsoft points first. Shops sell like 2100 points at a time (costs around £17 here in the uk from shops) and Castle Crashers'll set you back 1200 of those points (I think it's 1200, not 100% sure on that).

It came with a controller and a headset, so that was a plus, and of course the hard drive which means you don't have to buy it additionally. The only thing it DIDN'T have that was annoying to me was it didn't have a wireless router, so I had to go and buy that separately, where the PS3 has it built in. ------------------- New art? Really?

There is no more core or premium, there is the Arcade, Pro, and Elite. The Arcade comes with 256 mb of internal memory which is enough for the avatar program and nothing else so you will have to invest in another storage option. It does not come with an ethernet cable or headset and comes with standard composite cables. It does have an HDMI port. The Pro has just been upgraded with a 60 gig harddrive for the same price as the recently discontinued premium w/ 20 gig. It does not include an HDMI cable but instead comes with a component cable. It does have an HDMI port and, unlike the Arcade, includes the headset and ethernet cable in the box. The Elite comes with a 120 gig harddrive. It includes everything the Pro does but also has an HDMI cable in the box. Also the console and accessories (headset and controller) are black. -------------------

I was talking to the bloke at eb, he said like 7 dollars each for those 2, the four games you get with the deal i said earlier are, Gears of war, prostreet, lego indiana jones and kung fu panda. There's another deal that you get halo 3 and some other games, but i forget the price.

	for xbox live, i know in the states the cheapest per month deal is $50usd a year, which comes to around $4 and change per month. I dont know what that translates to in AUD but you should be able to figure that out. That price does not include the price of your isp, just the cost of the xbox live service. -------------------

	by wireless router, I'm sure he means it doesn't have a wireless network card built in. U can only connect an xbox 360 to the Internet through a wired connection out of the box. U can hook it up wirelessly if u purchase the xbox 360 wireless network adapter (rip off) or u can bridge it from a computer that is near your 360. If u want to know how to do that, just go to youtube. Also the cheapest subscription i purchase for xbox live gold is approx $42usd for a 12+1 card. that means its a 12month card with 1 bonus free month. u can find it on buy.com and that includes free shipping. I also have a PS3 but i don't use it for the majority of my home theater use. I use the ps3 for blu-ray and for its up-converting of regular dvds. But to be honest, the 360 has a lot more content on its marketplace. that includes movies, tv shows etc. Now here in the US we can now view Netflix through our xbox. If that feature makes it to you, your ps3 will most likely only be used for blu-ray. Your best bet is to purchase the 60gb premium. Finding a bundle is up to you. Do some searching in your area and u should find something. The most important thing u can get from us 360 owners is this, DO NOT BUY A USED XBOX 360!!! Other than that you will be fine. -------------------

	I know all about the RROD, as I said, most of my mates have 360's and one of them have had RROD 3 times, he's fixed it each time. I never had any impulse to buy a used 360. One of my mates wants me to get a 360 so bad, that he said to buy the Arcade Pack and that he'll give me his old 20 gig h-drive, the one from his 360 that he replaced with a 120. The reason I'm tossing it up, is because obviously a 60 gig is bigger, and I can download 360 games that my mates own onto my H-drive and play them, rather than buying them. Will this work? -------------------
