VGA HD Cable acting weird. |
|
I bought the VGA HD cable today, and hooked it up to my Asus VW22" monitor. I start playing and the first thing I notice is that there are colours fading in and out on the monitor, like a light tint. It just keeps fading, purple, green, red, yellow, you name it. I tried plugging it in to my TV with my original scart cable and it worked fine. And I've checked the cables, they aren't loose.

Did you tinker with the display settings on the console? Trying and set it to the best resolution your monitor can handle.
It also could be your monitor. Are there any buttons on it that allow you to change the settings of your monitor? Try working with those. -------------------

I have been trying out different monitor settings & display settings but there's no change. But I found someone online with the same problem and his cable was faulty, so I'm returning mine to get a new one.

Did you get an official cable? Some of the cheaper third party ones are completely unshielded, so you get the weird washed out effects.

If you have warranty on your monitor then turn it back in. Get a new one. It might just be the monitor itself. If not, make sure you connected the cable in tightly on both the 360 and the monitor. Press those screws in a bit tight. Not too much because getting them out is a bit tricky.
Make sure you don't have you cable next to some power cable. That's when you get interference especially with cables that aren't shielded properly. Also, make sure that the resolution is correct. You can't do 1080p on a 22 if I remember well. So try the next step down. 720p or the closest resolution. ------------------- I'M A SPEEDBALLER.

It's the official one, but I already sent it back to the store I boought it from so they will send a new one.
And well... I had it close to around 6 power cables, will that make a difference? -------------------

Thats an awful lot of junk. Try to tidy and simplify everything. Plug your power brick and monitor directly into a wall socket and turn everything else off if possible. Its not too uncommon to get interference between electrical stuff.
For example my PC is close to my TV and sometimes it blocks the reception of some channels. ------------------- This is my signature. Yes yes I know.... its fantastic isn't it.

Ah yes, I'll try to come up with a solution, the problem is, the only other power jacks I have are in the other side of the room, so I can't really have anything plugged in there.
