My sim has completely disappeared!
I was playing story mode with my sister and my sim's carpool stopped coming by the house. An hour later, he wouldn't even get the "miss another day of work and get fired" notice, it was like he didn't have the job anymore. I knew something was wrong, then my sister was able to select him, and you know that's impossible. She can only select her character or the other sims in the house, but not mine, yknow?

So, suddenly, my sim just got up out of the house and walked off the screen and never came back. I thought it was a glitch, and it must be, so I turned off the game without saving and tried again. Again, his carpool stopped coming by, no firing notice, my sister was able to select him again, but this time, I maintained control over him.


And this is where it got extra weird. I tried to get him to do stuff, and the sims cannot rebel when in direct control, but when I tried to, say, get him to read a book, he would drop it and try to leave out the door, but I kept pressing B so he wouldn't. This wouldn't work long though, cause when I tried to get him to sleep, he just got back up on his own, when in direct control still, and again tried to leave.

So, I decided to go into classic control to see what it was exactly he was trying to do, even though when in direct control, they gotta do what you say no matter what free will is on or not. So, here I am, in classic control, on the side of the screen where it shows what they're going to do, it was a little icon that looked like a black hole. So I just got really creeped out, let him do what he wanted to, and he walked off the screen and never came back. I waited several sim hours, and he was gone, without a trace, I couldn't even select him at all.

His picture still remained in other sims' relationship menus though. I never saved the game though of course, but I'm afraid it'll happen again. If this is a glitch, I've searched everywhere about it, mainly for the GC since the PC is completely different, and no one else seems to experience this anomaly. Usually, glitches are small and insignificant to the outcome of the game, but what I experienced here was quite an elaborate phenomenon, with all those weird things leading up to my sim completely vanishing, and if you ask me, this completely changes the way I can play the rest of the game and quite significant, since he was not a side character.

Just thinking about it now still creeps the hell out of me...

Are you sure it's your sim? Computer controlled sims walk off screen on there own. If that is true then the glitch is probably you controling them...

If it is the sim you created at the start of story mode, then somthing weird is happening.

That happened to me! But it was on the Urbz: Sims in the city! I swear its pretty freaky, isnt it? i just deleted the data and started over, even tho i was so close to finishin the game. It sucked but it never happened again. I know how you feel. I even saw the wierd black hole thingy too. Hmm... it must be a glitch, my freind also had the same thing happen to her as well. I wonder that the heck it is. [color=fuchsia][/color]

your sim might have been depressed, when you tried to get it to do stuff did it say "i dont feel like doing this right now"? if so then its depressed and thats why it wouldnt listen to you, but the walking off the screen thing is wierd...

that happed with my sisters sim ,, everytime she could some how make a new sim :S and he would keep running away too ..
i have no idea ;S
