Effective ways in using Engineers

I was wondering about everyone else's strategy with engineers (particularly Imperial engineers) in destroying enemy vehicles and setting demolitions.

I still can't figure out how to effectively destroy Rebel AT-ST's -- especially on Kashyyyk. Grenades and shock troopers only marginally damage the vehicles.

re: Effective ways in using Engineers

try aiming with a bazooka on his weak point, it has about 4 times the damage and for the engineers: try slicing in the vehicles

Your best bet is slicing into vehicles, but other than that the det packs work pretty good.

my stratage is to find the week point (by remembering the target wen you lock on with the heavy troop) then stick a detpack on it

Thats not always the weak point. Hell i have seen it many times it just locks on and doesnt go to the weak point. (Hell the demolition would be much easier if all you had to do was lock on and shoot)

re: Effective ways in using Engineers

to destroy a vehicle slice into it then fly it around the enemys let them destoy it, take enemys with you and youll find it a more effective winna than just blowing em up

re: Effective ways in using Engineers

I don't really have a stragty in using them. their gun takes too long to reload and you have to be right in front of the emeny to hurt them. the only good part of them was the bacta and demo charges

Actually, I think that the shotgun is awesome. A one hit kill up close with good range, and from medium range takes 2-3 shots. Then, whenever you are hurt, just bacta away.

On polis mass the engineers are alot more effective than any other trooper as its all tight corridors

Really? I found that the Clone Commander is my favourite unit on Polis Massa, you can charge your weapon then just jump out into an open corridor spraying your bullets, destroying almost anything there =)

I usually like to use engineers on Geonosis. No clue why really, just gives me pleasure to run round that area next to the sunken in command post in the middle of the map, shotgunning everyone and slicing my way into any vehicles who chance to pass me.

re: Effective ways in using Engineers

I find that onlne or splitscreen, an engineer coupled with a sniper is a good combo. The sniper can eliminate any long range threats and the engineer can kill anyone at close range with ease, and since the sniper doesnt have to constantly look around behind him he can concentrate on sniping while the engineer protects him.

Also, encontered with a tank or walker, the sniper can stay behind and give cover fire while the engineer goes in and slices into the vehicle and when the occupants are kicked out, the sniper can pick them off. A complaint with alot of snipers is that they run out of ammo quick and an engineer can replenish his ammunition supplies.

On his own I guess the engineer is ok for just CQB, repairs, and taking out tanks.

I like to be paired with someone that way both guys supplement the others weak areas. Alot of it is teamwork.
Like Engineer/Sniper
Rifleman/Anti Tank Missleman (heavy ordnance)
Sniper/Anti Tank Missleman
Clone Commander/clone trooper
etc
just my 2 cents
