I've been the center of some controversy, hey? Let me get some things straight - I knew the theme before I made the sprite, in fact, before I had any inspiration or motivation or intention to enter the round at all. I saw all that went down in the discussion of the thread. As a judge I watch all the sprite contests like a hawk, so thanks for being all "D: You didn't understand the theme".

Second, if you allow my sprite to remain in the first place position, then I'm pleased to hear that, since the most common retypes actually rely on fusion. If you choose to allow my sprite, then you have no place in disqualifying the others (save for the Typlhosion-Feraligatr due to the Fire Type issue). If that's the case, then they deserve proper judging as well.

Finally, I don't know what you're thinking exactly, White Knight. To say that none of us have the Pokemon sprite style is absurd. If you place some of the sprites made on this site between three or four of the official sprites and asked someone to point out which one doesn't have the same style, for a lot of the spriters on this site, there is no difference. Seriously, put my entry between a few:



The style is pretty similar, seriously. These are examples from D/P sprites (except for Quagsire and my own). If you compare with the HG/SS style, you'll see mine is near-identical. It's a rubbish thing to say that nobody can copy the official style - it's clearly quite possible if you practice at it. Also, I'm incredibly insulted that you seem to think my best days are behind me. The spriting community hasn't really changed that much.

Well, so much for the argument being over. I'm not going to continue it, just explain why I posted my comments. As I already said, I posted my original comment referring to FB, because the "back then" argument is no long valid on this thread. The reason none of these sprites are in true Pokemon style is because none of us a Ken Sugimori(don't try to say you are), though we can imitate him fairly well, even though we're using his sprites to begin with. And I'm very sorry if I insulted you. I wasn't saying your spriting skill was degrading, I was saying that you've been here a long time, and unfortunately you are no longer a judge here, but you still kinda act like. I'm very sorry if you got the wrong message.

As for Aether, sorry if I jumped to any conclusions. However, so did you, jumping to the conclusion that he had stolen that sprite. I'm not saying you're wrong, but you have no proof and no reason to believe it, so you have to loosen up. Also, I know it's not in the style of Pokemon sprites, but that's up to the judges to decide, and until you are a judge, you ought to let this go. Sorry if I ticked you off.

Okay guys, I'm getting sick of all this. This discussion should have ended a long time ago. I respect the fact that you may have a problem with my judging, and you want to say something about it, but this truly has been going on for too long. The simple fact is that if you have an issue with my, please contact me, don't have a major discussion here. I'm reasonable, and I'll listen to anything you guys have to say to me. I respect FB's point, and after practice I will make the required changes to my judging. I want this argument to stop now. If you really feel the need to keep at it with another member, please take it out of this thread.

would "very/extremley windy" count as a kind of climate? or no?

alright, because i was thinking of a pokemon that lived in a very windy area, so through natural evolution(like how real species evolve to survive, type deal, not pokemon evolution) it would develop something like claws or spikes to plant itself into the ground when it gets windy so that it can stay where it lives.
