Judging isn't "List all the flaws" it's "Judge the sprite" ;] And a repose allows you to remove things like claws. Why did you even post? xD

and to judge a sprite properly, you have to look
for all the flaws before you look at what's good
about it...

Judging something positively is alot easier
then judging something negatively...

You weren't a part of the tournament so it really doesn't require your input. I also love how you went from "Fourthbeat's was still better" to "You have to look at what's wrong, now what's right" because I opposed what you had to say. Perhaps you're letting your "skill" get to your head, or maybe you're bitter because I didn't bow down before your opinion because you're such an "great" spriter. Either way, Zach made his decision and his word is final. So stop wasting your time, and more importantly, mine.

so you come onto this thread and just criticis the judging that's not right and judging postively is stupid, with a A-F scale the harsher the better we dont' want 10 A+'s each round, anyway i'll shutup now

Weavi: Seriously dude, I told him Jake what flaws were there and he interprated them into his judging of the sprite, bersonally, I was the on who told him to not put the claws in, Raikou isn't always a vicious cat or dog, I thought it would be nice if Raikou didn't have his claws beared, and if he gets and A+, why shuld he care about adding the claws if they won't improve his mark?

As Eclipse knows I really struggled with that round and will probably struggle with this one too.

Weavilax is a great spriter he was around on the first thread and some of his work is in the Hall of Fame.

@Eclipse: I've seen official pictures of Raikou in relaxed
poses, and guess what, he ALWAYS has his claws beared...
and I'm not saying adding the claws would get him higher
then A+, I'm saying that he SHOULDN'T have gotten an A+
in the first place, I guess if you told him to take the
claws off then he can get the A+, but you shouldn't
have...

Uhhh, here's a quick thing, the line between the head and the
body should be more reddish, it stands out right now...

It's a little bland IMO

basically, what he said, plus I hate the tail. looks like it's farting fire, rather than having a fire tail. i like the recolor though.

Alright, before things start getting a bit out of hand here... Weavilax, everyone is open to their own opinion, just because you think something is right in one way doesn't mean everyone has to think that way. Zach thinks not putting Raikou's claws in is a nice touch, well, he's the judge, not you. All judges judge differently.

Constructive criticism is meant to help and really I don't see a single 'constructive' thing in your post, all I see is you picking something apart without mentioning anything to improve. Sure, you mention claws, but that's a matter of opinion not technique.

In regards to your skills, just because you think something is good doesn't mean everyone else has to. Again, matter of opinion. Personally I do think your fire needs a bit of work, as do outlines as they seem a bit shaky and the fire could use more detail in it to fit with the rest of the sprite. Maybe a bit more specified shading to specify the light coming from the actual flames as well as a more 'fluid' wavy shape to the tunic, unless of course it's made to look like it's a bit sturdier. I hope you don't mind a bit of constructive criticism on my part in that regard ^^

However, I believe that this thread is for the spriting competition, not to show of random sprites, so maybe check out the sprite gallery, kay? ^~

I'd normally invite you to take this discussion to PM as to not involve the public in our discussion, and to stop filling the thread with these posts, but this is much too amusing as it is. ^^

I mentioned that the paws were too small and that
the claws should've remained on, why? Because
that's how Raikou's anatomy works :/

Really, by picking out the flaws, you should be
able to find CC in that :/

If someone says

The outline sucks >=O

in regards to someones sprite, then
the person should think "Oh, okay, I need to
work on my outline."

I'm trying to help you, if someone says
you're perfect then you'll be perfectly fine
with your work, even if it's not perfect, so
you'll never try to get better...
