please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i cannot use anything else with the a button except jinx.i want to know how to use aviforus,herbivicious,etc..............

I have been playing for three days and i am on the level of the prefects bathroom.but what i am trying to say is that if you use the X button why doesnt it cast avifors at the dugbobs.i want to complete moodys 1st challenge which is DEFEAT 10 DUGBOBS USING THE AVIFORS SPELL.the spell avifors is in which the bats come out of the wand and attack the dugbobs.I have done it once by luck but i dont know how.
