I think the speed in the Burnout games is great. But sometimes I wish it was a little less fast, but gave you the same real fast driving feeling. But I guess if they took the speed out it wouldn't be as good. How do you people like the speed?

Depending on the level and the opponent, I GENERALLY like having high speed. It looks super cool raging up to someone, smacking them off the road and drifting around the up-coming corner.

But I agree that sometimes it is a little too fast. For example, the preview laps (Especially the one in Europe, on the eastern side (Vineyard?)). It gets really hard to control, and places can be gained and lost like nobodies business.

But most of the time, I think it is great.

Nah, it's not too fast. That's what Burnout's all about, it's meant to be a speedy racing game with a hell of a lot of destruction. I love the speed the way it is, it's at a dangerous level and so when you crash it looks brutal. Also the faster you go, the more you have to do last second dodges away from cars, or if you're boosting for example, you've got to control it well.

I hope they keep the same speed in Burnout Revenge as they did with Burnout 3: Takedown. It's perfect.

The sense of speed is perfect, and after all...it is a racing game. It's supposed to be fast. The speed in Burnout 3 was perfect.

I know. This game has perfect speed. There is nothing wrong with it.

By going from 0-300 mph in under a second. I read somewhere about a hack someone got for GT3, they got their car to go so fast so quickly, that they hit the far barrior before they knew they had pressed accelerate


As I said, I really liked 99% of the speed in this game. The dodges, the takedowns, the sudden swerves, the drifts, it is all BRILIANT! The only time I can't handle the speed is preview laps. I just cannot control the car as I can with all the others. I can control all Super's easily, but that circuit racer is just.....FAST!

I see, I stand corrected. Well, I liked 101% of it, sure, a few kinks here and there. But It's still incredible.

When there is too much traffic I find high speeds really irratating, especially if you're on a speed trial because you keep smashing into uncoming cars. Arrrg that is so annoying.

Thats where control comes in. Speed is anybodys fool,but knowing how to not crash and avoid cars is the real test on Timed Laps. Its generally easy enough to memorise the pattern of traffic in a single Timed Lap race after failing at it a few times. I memorised most of the track and the traffic pattern for Downtown 'cos I failed so much. Control is the real skill.

Honestly, if you saw the way I swerve on the road and drive suicidally through traffic, you would have to agree. But I think I can just about handle the speed. At least there is always an opponent to stop me from smashing into the wall. So kind, aren't they?

The speed is the best part of Burnout.I think the crashing is the money maker!!
