fast way to make gold

It's been a while since I played the free version and I just started playing the members version again...

But from memory skills are always a good bet for gold. Woodcutting, Fishing, Mining, etc all make decent money. Just try to find a quiet world and hope there aren't many bots.

As for the best way to get exp, there aren't many options for free members and they are usually crowded (at least they were but I doubt that has gone down). And it depends a lot on the skill... but a few I remember:

Woodcutting - Willows at Draynor Village for exp, Yews behind Varrock Castle for moderate exp/decent cash.

Fishing - Karamja has a lot of lobster, tuna and swordfish spots. Only problem is that its a long run to the bank, but I think they added a banker somewhere.

Mining - I don't remember any places but iron was always good for exp and coal/other ores for gold.

they are 13gp each at average price making them pretty useless to sell.
