Yes he can, you only need like 65 range for metals, my first visage was 68 - 74 range.

Anyway, to contribute to the money-making discussion, metal dragons are a GREAT way to make money at 65+ range or 60+ mage. You get one rune drop about every 10 kills, one dragon drop about every 200 - 300, and just MAYBE a draconic visage after a few thousand. Not to mention that you only have to click once every 6 minutes so they're somewhat AFKable.

Wear: Regular range armour is fine with the exception of the shield slot where an anti-dragon shield is manditory, for your weapon use a rune c'bow

Where: Brimhaven dungeon, if you don't know where in it, use a map on a guide

Safespot: You don't need to safespot, they only attack with dragon fire as long as you're at least one space away and if you are under the effect of an anti-fire potion + have an anti-dragonfire shield, their dragon fire attack won't affect you.

i wouldnt say metal are exactly the best way to make money. i range irons regularly (at 86 range+pots) and after subtracting the cost of pots and bolts, im only a little over breaking even. i would say go to metals only if you really like rune javs.
