Tbh i think we should vote our generals in place like every 6 months we switch out so no one goes crazy with power or resposibility.

Which is why it's stressed that at least one warning be given before hand, and in most cases two. But because that is the weakest (and only in the case generals, who can't access the ignore list) punishment, it has to be used accordingly. Yes it is annoying when it's done by mistake and I understand that, but there isn't a weaker alternative to use. What makes things worse in some cases is that it's not easily reversible. But those are the tools the generals have; it's down to Jagex to make the tools and the generals to apply them as best they can.

If someone gets kicked, unless it was a genuine mistake and the chat are willing to hop out to allow that person back in, it is a case of 'get over it'. Often it does not put a black mark on your record, and once you've been back in the chat for 5 minutes it'll be as if you never left. That's not to say generals can kick on a whim, but that does mean mistakes and small offences are meant to be dealt with quickly and forgotten. I'm sure everyone has gotten over any kicks they got last year or even last month; it's not like a Neoseeker or IRC ban or being added to the ignore list, which is much worse.

If a general personally dislikes the chat, as long as it doesn't go near breaking any rules, they shouldn't really stop it. When the chat goes on for too long however and is flooding the channel for a length of time, then a general can step in to move things along.

Most generals are fine, and the odd slip-up they make is quickly rectified between those involved. Those whose slip-ups have been made public in the past may have been spoken to privately, and in most cases things pan out fine and everything carries on smoothly. When new generals are deemed necessary, we do ask a variety of members what they think of that person in order to pick the best person. But I don't think a regular cycle of generals would be very productive, nor feasible since there are only so many who can handle the position responsibly.

Racism. I got kicked from clan chat by Phil. Rich, Red, and someone else (not from neoseeker) started flooding my inbox with sexual harassing private messages. Then phil kicked me cause he can't understand what the hell is going on. I demand a demotion...

I rarely get involved with clan chat' issues and maybe I shouldn't but considering I am rarely concencered with them but I don't think that congo warrants a kick and the only thing which I would say would deserve a warning is calling phil a jerk.
