No one really comes to the message board anymore, so I'm basically talking to myself here, but still, why did EOE get such awful ratings from pro-reviewers? This was one awesome game--and I'm not easy to please, considering I get through about two to three games every month. Eve of Extinction was the most refreshing and innovative game I've played in a long time. And it's definately the best to ever come from Eidos!

I think it got bad ratings because people only play a few minutes of it, and then decide "this sucks". I didn't like the game when I first started to play it. The first 2 stages are not the greatest, but the whole game is so much better after you play it for a while (leveling up your weapons helps a bunch). The reviewers should have given it more of a chance.

I know what you mean. The first stage or two was just a lot of wandering around while Eliel yelled at Josh. (This is why she was promptly turned off!) And Hans was a joke! Especially the second time around, since your legecies were already leveled up.

I liked the beginning of the game! I thought Hans was hard! I am who you have never seen but secretly fear... the mainstream gamer who whines!

The hard part was getting the chandelier down. After that, you just got him into a corner and kept wacking him over the head. He was paralyzed!

Afterthought: Anyone else (who has played both EOE and FFX) think that Hans is a rip-off of the Al Bhed? Don't get me wrong: I liked Eve of Extiction more than Final Fantasy 10, but the similarity was uncanny.

Hans does that flippy thing. And he would never go in a corner for me. I would have to keep electrocuting him. But with the twin blades, he goes down in less than 5 hits!

Afterthought: Final Fantasy X was pretty.

I just got the game yesterday, but have not yet opened it- I will be sure to look past the beginning just in case. I am glad I read this so I know to hang in there if it seems lame at first.

Once you get into the subway, it starts to get really fun.

The subway's boring, Reilly Jr! It gets fun about the time you beat Hans!

I did get bored in the beginning. It was better after beating Hans, I agree. I like it better as I get further in...

I think this game is possibly the most under-rated game to ever be released.
It has everything I want from a game although it is a tiny bit repetitive at times.

THIS GAME IS AWESOME and is defenetly under-rated its one of the most addicting games ive played and i got it for 9 bucks! thumbs up awesome game!!!!!!!!
