Character Rating House & Advice [8]

~Welcome to the Character Rating House!~

Step right up! Step right up! Greetings my friend, and welcome to the ratings house! Here you can ask for other people's opinion on your character(s) but in order for this to happen it is a good idea to post as much information as possible.

Follow this format if you want to get rated:

Character Link - If you don't know how to get one look here for directions.
Build -choose 1 from this link if you don't have
AQ stats page - Go to AQstats and add the id# for your character)works whit the name of the character to) in the box where its seed "Search Character" and past the link they gave you.
Notes -
Goals -
Custom Weapon Element(If Applicable)-
Specific Rater(If Applicable)-

Please wait for a reply before posting again, asking to be rated multiple times in a row will make your post magically vanish and you might not be rated at all. If you are not sure whether anyone has noticed your request check the Ratings/Advice Requests Index lower down in this thread. If yours is not then send me a neopm to let me know. After getting a rating you should make noticeable changes before asking for another one. Everyone can rate other characters.

The last thread ended up here. Mmm...copypasta...

re: Character Rating House & Advice [8]

deadfunny,

STR: 0
DEX: 30
INT: 180
CHA: 70
END: 60
LUK: 0

Good job getting your Int up. Continue training it until you hit 200, then train up your End and Cha. You've trained up some Dex which is a mistake at lower levels, but it isn't alot so I'd leave it, after all free accounts are a pain to untrain.

Weapons
Long Sword
Big 100K -->Great
Pummeller
Poise -->Very pricy for your level, I'd suggest getting swordfish and using this gold for something else. But if yoiu really like it, then keep it.
Raynar's Ultimate Blade -->Excellent
Mistral Ravager
Fist of Ice --> I'd suggest replacing with Lycan Magic Slasher

Iron Edge

Fire Blood Blade is a good fire sword until you can afford Reign Bringer.

Armors
Steel Plate
Lightning-->Mage Robes
Earth Power
Invisibility Cloak
Ice Breaker
Necromancer Cloak
Dracomancer Armor
Holy Armor
storage:
Rogue Outfit

I'd suggest getting rogue out of storage. You can get the Black Cat can't you? It is very useful against the Relishes.

As far as shields goes, pick up Nemesis shield. After Nemesis pick up Sackleberry Special. Use SS for light, fire, energy and earth and Nemesis for everything else.

I think this will be enough for now. Good luck.

re: Character Rating House & Advice [8]

I think the Lycan Magic Slasher is better than NMM, it has a great special. As a matter of fact, I replace NMM with LMS.

You can find it in the Werewolf shop in Darkovia.

The Relishes are Kel Jr and Senior, they are the top trolls.

By the way, if you are looking for a good cheap spell spamming armor while being protected, you might want to pick up the Protector armor, shield and pet. If you want to use the armor, use all three. The pet is a great earth pet.

Edit:

It's also about time you start saving up for the ultimate mage armor: Golden Plate.

Spells

Illuminate Ultra--Great. Consider Nightbanes redemption lvl 85, its better IMO.

Earth Rage--Perfect. But this is the least useful spell since theres very few wind monsters that taskes heavy dmg from earth attks. This can be replaced with a healing spell if you want one.

Riiiptide--Perfect.

Bag of Bones--Good, but not good ebough for your lvl. Darksplatter, costs tokens but not enough so that it should be a problem I think.

Heal Wounds--Good if you want helaing, although I suggest getting rid of Earth Rage to make slot for this and getting a wind spell.

Arrows of Virtue--Great. Consider Mega inferno, Meteors or Frost Elf Attack. But the one youre using is also good, its a matter of preference.

Purity Portal--Good, but not good enough for lvl 80. Lightning Rod and use chain lightning.

Evil Shadow--Great. Ice nine (at lvl 90) or Diamond Dust from the glacial short staff.

Your spells are pretty good but some can use an upgrade. What you really need a Wind spell. Get Brihaldo feathers ASAP then go for Vortex.

re: Character Rating House & Advice [8]

Diamond Dust from Glacial Short Staff. He means that Glacial Short Staff can cast Diamond Dust, which is the same as Ice Nine, and a bit cheaper I think. But that leaves you without a Physical Ice Weapon.

re: Character Rating House & Advice [8]

A mage does not need to have weapons for each element. Mage weapons should be chosen for tactical reasons, elemental damage can be achieved through spells. I would see no problem with having Lycan Magic Slasher, GSS and Magic Ice Katana in your inventory at the same time.

re: Character Rating House & Advice [8]

Can you clarify which level versions your Hybee Spear, Bad-Axe and Auger of Brontus are? I'm assuming 60, 65 and 70 respectively but just to make sure.

re: Character Rating House & Advice [8]

Light,

Your character is lvl 72 which means you have 360 stats available, you've used 215 which means you have 145 unused stats. That's not good, put those 100 stats into Str and the remaining 45 into End.

Excellent choice in getting protector armor, shield and pet!

You've wasted your gold on those spells.

The next major upgrades should be to get Iron Thorn and Reign Plate. Training your stats is going to get expensive, so keep farming that gold!

re: Character Rating House & Advice [8]

@lil tong.

You have the essentials, barely . And your strategy is dead right about saving up gold for new things at this point.

+Everything you have is good.

-You have very little.

I wont bother with a proper rate since youd end up beeing a 2/10 or something considering the lack of alot of things. My own opinion is that you have a pretty good char. 6/10 or there about.

Just a few things that should be done before starting to buy weapons.

#1: Ditch the 40 luck stat. If you need blocking and BTH put them in dex. I think you should max out your int and then put them wherever suits you (out of dex and end off course).

#2: Make your spells perfect before starting with the weapons. I dont see a house or a token-item so I cant understand how you managed to get so few tokens. If your training stats DONT USE TOKENS. They are far too rare to be wasted there. Darksplatter is extremely cheep token spell you should get, ninjat madness is not bad but multi element is to be avoided if possible. Besides, NM doesnt beat DS until its highest tier (lvl 95 I think), so DS is a great investment.

For tips on the other element spells look at my answer to deadfunny. If you dont really know about them look em up here http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=900250 and if you still have questions after doin so post again askin for comparisons and opinions and what not.

#3: Consider getting golden plate (THE mage über plate)before getting ALL of the weapon slots filled. That armor will do you more good then most weapons.

Heres for some cheap and easy to get things you should have as a mage.

#4: Get Belaqayas gift (or whatever the name is) diamond of the body. A great all-round misc thatll last you til you start to seriously figure out your misc department.

#5: Get mage robes or wizard robes. See which you like best (I prefer wizard robes with divine boost). Since both of them can boost spell power they are better for the hum drum farming then any übers.

#6: Get Lycan magic slasher. Its special ability are incredibly powerful and can save your a$$ when in a pinch and the cost for the weapon is a joke. BUY NOW.

Hope that helped you some, you should ask for a proper rating ones you start to fill your slots some more.

~Krux
