I think I'm starting to realise why this forum had a Super intervention a few months ago.
I see so much interest in chatting with others then taking interest in the rest of the forum which revolves around the game.

Neoseeker doesn't survive by post count of a forum, if the GD was removed, nothing on this site would change. What would change is the regulars interpretation of this forum, which is needed.

As for post count, I don't really care. As long as I'm happy here, anywho can have my post count.

The purpose of a GD is given in it's name, it's about discussions you can't really post in other threads, or else it would be spamming in those threads, not Neoseeker Instant Messages.

A GD is implemented ONLY if the mod of the forum feels there is a need for it. A GD is often disliked by Mods and Supers alike as it brings no actual information, it IS a luxury for the forum, but I am one of those who thinks it's a good thing, usually.

I don't think most of those who are active in the GD would even notice this post on your own as I get the impression of that a "GD regular" clicks "My.neoforum" then click on the current GD, not glancing over the forum index as the game doesn't interest, but chatting with others. Normally, that's fantastic that there is a good natured community and people are nice to each other, but some things should be said through PM or IM, not the forums.
I don't like being the bad guy, I know you guys love the GD, but it's TOTALLY in your hands, not mine. If the GD is continued to be abused, I will to close it down, and I don't know when or if I will open it up again.

I have notice those have have interest in the forum beyond the GD, this isn't aimed at you, I know not everyone isn't abusing the GD, but I'm not going to start naming names.

In conclusion, this is the final, final warning before I decide to do something drastic. Right now I feel how the GD is used is unhealthy for this forum, and finally, it's all in your hands.

Ok. I admit I had went too far by those jokes in the GD. I am really sorry. But as for review, some of old members seemed couldn't accept the new members, specially when the new members were happy talking to another newbie and kinda "run" this forum and kinda "stole" their old friends. They wanted the old friends, the old rules, old rulers, etc. We already tried to "brought" the old members in any of our conversation (even the normal conversation which didn't like these past 3 GD), our game, etc. But it seemed like they couldn't accept us. And they always said that they wanted to leaving this forum forever because this forum isn't same again like it was; even when we were in normal conversation (like in the old GD's which wasn't like these past 3 GD). It was a bit offensive in the eye of the newbies.
Surely, old friends are gold. But everyone sometimes take a break from getting online. And nobody can force them to back. Even if you make a special thread for them; if they're currently busy they wouldn't online. Maybe they would online, but only for 3-7 days. In the other hand, you have a new friend here.



But I didn't say "all of the old members here" were like that. Some are nice.

Since we are talking about newbies, I want to ask; who are the newbies here?
Somebody who joined on (example like) February 2009 but their post count has been deleted so they Neo title is "Neo newbie", or them who joined on (example like) August 2009 but their post count has reach to about 300 posts?

As for the RP, I think we just want to run it faster. Some people couldn't post in a while, so the others had to do something to keep it running. But, of course, all of us prefer to play Cannons instead of OC, actually.
Example like Brainbug. Maybe he created his OC because he can't post as Tseng in order to waiting for Cissnei. If Cissnei can post more or can enjoy more, he wouldn't mind to kill his OC and keeping Tseng. I guess.
Another alternative is to continuing his Tseng posts, but since Tseng was with Cissnei, if he's continuing his Tseng; it would be confusing for Cissnei.

Sorry to discussing about the RP here.

My point was to make everyone understand that NO ONE here is a newbie. Everyone are the same here.

About people who just playing in the RP, well, I can tell that your RP (this forum's RP) was kinda famous in Google.

I take it as the GD must be an On-topic Discussion or at least bring something about CC.

Like you said about not telling me how to mod, and I don't mean to sound like I'm running you over, I am always open to listen to suggestions.


That's the thing. Neoseeker does not survive on off topic activity.
Many believe there shouldn't be no off topic GDs at all as we have The Loungin', and there's always discussions about to cut it all out all together all over Neoseekers.
I understand how a GD will keep people around to answer random people who passes through and needs help fast, which is why I am for off topic GDs, but not when I and normal members feel it's getting out of hand. It's freedom is being abused, it's abnormal for threads to go as fast as it does. Yes the PPD will drop dramatically, but that isn't the issue, on topic posts need to increase dramatically for to justify that kind of GD use. And it hurts those of us who tries to justify to keep GD's when it's used like this.

IM talk is like;

"Hey, anyone here?"
"How are ya, Karl?"
"I'm good, you?"
"I'm having pizza now."

That's what I like to call chat talk, and Twitter talk, talking about what's going on just now, and I see it each time I peek in the GD.
Minimum amount of text in a post has been tried by the previous mod and failed, not to mention a 2 sentence long post can still have no content in it.
Just a smilie is just bad spam.

Like I've been saying from the start that I love that there is a good spirit, and that's fantastic.

Even now with the talk of removing the GD, the same still happens.So it's very likely I will close down the GD (most likely) temporarily.
I think that's the only way to wake people up. And those who are true to the game will stick and will be able to continue the privilege of the GD when it seems appropriate to let it come back.

Why don't you guys arrange a group convo through IM that the commoners in the GD can't establish as you guys are so close like you are, use the PM function and contact each other to let each other know about it. We can make a thread where people can post their IM information so that there is easy access to each other, and relieve the forum of IM like chatting.

People will leave completley if the gd closes
