While I do completely agree that Cloud and Aerith did have some sort of romantic connection in the original game, and I do agree that Cloud and Tifa did not have a strong one, I am a CloTi supporter and here is why.
First of all, I am not qualified to assess the compatibility of relationships and people. I am not going to tell you how close Zack and Aerith were, nor how close Cloud and Aerith were, I am here to simply state the facts.

First of all, Zack and Aerith were in a relationship, this much is true, and Zack still loved Aerith when he died. Also, he is the type of person that after she died, he probably walked around all day in lifestream-heaven saying "how about a date?" over and over until he got one.

That's besides the point however, how they are doing in the afterlife I cannot say.

The point of the matter, the blunt truth, is that Aerith is dead.
No matter how Cloud felt for her, she's dead, and thusly he cannot have a relationship with her.

This honestly leaves two options for Cloud, Tifa, the girl he lives with (who is very attractive) who seems to care a lot about him and calls him family, and has two adopted foster children with him, who also owns a home, which he operates his job out of, and cooks food for him. Or Yuffie, who honestly is about as un-lovable as a week old dead calf.

Cloud can either be in a relationship with Tifa, or no relationship at all. We will see.

zack and aerith definently they had a better history look better together and i agree with the comments that yeah she wore pink for him waited all those years for him sent letter not even knowing if he got them and i do think at least half of the "attraction" with cloud was because like she said in the game he reminded her of zack

And this is the part I have a problem with Tifa. She knew something was wrong with him, why did she let him live like that for so long?

That's true, Vincent would have stayed with Lucrecia. I think Vincent and Yuffie would make a really cute couple as well .


I don't think I have participated in this thread so here goes...

I believe that Aerith trully loved Zack and Cloud just reminded her of Zack. In Crisis Core Zack and Aerith ended up loving each other, even when Zack was in Nibleheim they continued to mail each other. After Zack's death and Cloud getting Mako poisoned, Cloud ended up getting Zack's personality [persona] and well, continued to have his personality even when he met Aerith -- which somehow she already knew Zack was dead. Aerith somehow felt that Cloud reminded her of Zack and ended up building some feelings for him. That's what I think and in reality Aerith fell in love with Zack once again.
