What amount did you have in mind? Did you want enough to pay off your mortgage or do you want a nice amount of money at hand?
Each day, there is a rock in your village that when hit, will produce bells and increases as you continue to hit it. That's roughly 8,000 each day alone.
You do dig up your fossils each day and have them identified correct? That can add up to a couple thousand bells as well.
If you want bigger money, there's the stalk market you can do with Joan every Sunday between 6am and 12pm. You buy as many white turnips as you can from her, then wait until Tom Nook buys them from you at a decent price. While you're at it, buy some red turnip seeds, plant those seeds and water them every day, and you can sell it after roughly 6 days of growing.
If you don't mind cheating, you can change the clock on your DS and collect bank interest. You would put roughly 10,000 - 20,000 bells into your bank account at Town Hall, add about 10 years onto your DS clock, and check your interest. You can gain at the most 99,999 bells from interest, which is usually on a monthly basis if you don't time travel, but you would be collecting several months.
Some of the villagers, like Elvis, have very expensive items you could get from them and sell. All you would have to do is mail them letters they enjoy (write "I love you." four times, two on each line), and include a piece of furniture you don't care about. This will cause them to throw away their older stuff for your gifts, and they don't know the difference between a 100 bell cardboard box, and a 800,000 bell throne.
Will that work for you?
