	Log in to remove this advertisement Apologies if there is a thread already like this, I could not find one in the search however. I was wanting to know what will happen to the PSP. Now that it has been replaced by Vita, will Sony continue to support this hardware (e.g. through new games, PS3 compatibility etc), or will it completely drop off? If anyone can direct me (via links etc) to any credible websites that shed any light on this, that would be greatly appreciated. ------------------- Forever maimed!

	Yes. PSP games will continue to be sold and promoted through the store, as Vita can play them, but I doubt they'll make any new games after this point. 	Given what i have heard of the life of the battery of the gargantuan? doubt so, plus it's too much for a hanheld game, it seems sony wanted to add as many gimmicks as posible to compete with the 3DS, only that the 3DS only has two Touch screen and 3D with no glasses. ------------------- Support the Last Story wiki! 	Speaking from experience with the PSV AND after playing Uncharted: Golden Abyss, I do believe Vita will outright overshadow the PSP...but in due time though. What I dislike though is that it is basically trying to mimic smartphones what with navigating the main menu with just the touchscreen, the whole 3G internet in which you'll prolly have to rely on for any Network capabilities, and the godamn App installations. It's like half the shit the Vita can do, I already have it on my iPhone. Battery life is about what can be expected really (not long but not short either), and it is reasonable if you think about it: More features = More battery usage...there's a reason Smartphone battery life span is a lot shorter than older cellphones, people. Otherwise, social networking is MUCH easier as you can actually spot out other Vita users playing online from your location...handy little thing. Also something called "AR Gaming", probably something to do with being able to play something in different locations or something like that....but yeah I believe the Vita should have a long life span ahead. -------------------

	My battery life has surprised me so far, delivering pretty good life over solid playing of Uncharted. I think the Vita eclipses the 3DS in every way Sure, 3DS has two touch screens, but the Vita has two touch panels and one bigger, better screen. It doesn't have 3D, but I don't want 3D. 	I see what you guys are saying here. It's a shame really, as I still use my PSP a fair bit (though not as much since purchasing a PS3 a couple of years ago). I think I'll wait for a while before I buy the Vita, I'm waiting to see what kind of games will eventually be released, and hopefully the price will come down ------------------- Forever maimed!

There's still a couple upcoming PSP games in the US: Grand Knights History is supposed to come out soon, Gungnir will be released in North America on June 12th and Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time will be released on July 24th. Growlanser:WoT may very well be the last PSP game released in North America, unless Xseed manages to release Trails in the Sky 2 like they originally planned. It's a shame, but that's the way it goes. I just hope some decent RPGs get released here for the Vita. I have no intention of buying one until that happens. 	Also something else though...I've got Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and I played it for about 50 hours on my PSP. Now that I've got it installed on my Vita, I can't find any way to actually transfer that save which means that I'm gonna have to start over from scratch. They should at least add in an update so that the Vita can be compatible with Media Go or something. -------------------

	No! I've done it, it's easy. You need to put the save on your computer in the PS Vita folder. I think it goes in Savedata somewhere. Just copy the save folder everywhere until it shows up in the Vita's content manager. Or, use the PS3, if you can figure that out. But you sure don't need to. Yeah, we're not likely to see any more "big name" titles on the PSP. Aksys just released a dating sim called Hakuoki, so perhaps they may release more niche PSP games. And if Growlanser: WoT & Gungnir sell well I could see Atlus releasing a few more niche JRPGs on the PSP. But yes, it's pretty much on the way out. -------------------

	I'd still be using my PSP for all the homebrews I have in it. I'm still a UMD guy and am pretty old skool to digitalize myself, yet. Ofc, I will still play on my PSP even if I'd be owning a Vita. Possibly the Vita will be my main handheld while my PSP would be just when-I-am-bored or fed up with the Vita at some point . ------------------- artist: Divinorse
