	Log in to remove this sponsored message Yeah, I made an entirely separate thread because I'm not getting an answer in the Homebrew thread and I'd like to get this done ASAP. I'm an utter PSP nub, so bare with me. I have a pre-slim fat PSP, firmware is 3.71 and using the little UMD tray tut I saw the IC1003. Now, I need to know exactly what I have to do, cause I'm not sure if I need a Pandora Battery (and if I do I need this explained to me, exactly what it is, what it does, what happens, how to do it) or if I can downgrade. On top of that, I have no idea where to start, since from what I've seen the steps are like a circle, each one requires and previous one to be done and so forth, so I'd like someone to explain the exact order in which I do this. Thanks. I haven't started "converting" my PSP, but I have one battery and a 4gb Memory Stick Pro Duo as well if those are needed. ------------------- deviantART

	1. Download THIS 2. Copy the EBOOT.PBP to X:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE (assuming your PSP MS drive is X:) then upgrade. 3. Download THIS and follow whatever is in the readme. 4. Once you got the HEN running, download THIS and copy the UPDATE folder in the RAR file. 5. Follow the instructions, and TADA! You've got 5.00 M33-6! NOTE: DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. And if you ever want to downgrade without a pandora (on a PSP with a custom firmware), you can use Hellcat's Recovery Flasher. ------------------- If you are happy and you know it,

	Alright. So what's this about downgrading then? Cause I thought the whole point of using the Pandora Battery/Magic Memory Stick thing was to get Custom Firmware on the PSP. :/ Obviously the guides I read weren't exactly clear (or I'm just an idiot). So if I do have to do this Pandora/Magic Memory Stick crap can someone explain how I do it, and what the consequences are (someone told me it kills your battery and that you'll need a replacement. 	Oh no. Since your PSP firmware is lower than 5.03, you can downgrade without a pandora. And downgrading has nothing to do with getting CFW on your PSP. I downgraded after I upgraded to 5.50 GEN-A because I couldn't run many of my homebrew apps after uprading. Use that when you have a semi-brick. 	All right. You're positive I don't need a Pandora though? Cause I remember that from some of my searches they said that if you had official firmware 3.71 you needed Pandora, so I'm not really sure (although I can't recall the date of this, so it could be outdated). But let's say I don't use the Pandora and I put this stuff on my PSP, would it brick if it turned out I did need it or am I safe to test? ------------------- deviantART

So on my new memory stick (the 4gb), I don't have the "Game/Update" folders. On my old one (the measly 256mb) I only had a GAME folder, but no UPDATE one. :/ So should I just plug it into my computer and make the new folders myself on my 4gb stick? ------------------- deviantART

	Alright, so I had to make the GAME and UPDATE folder myself under J:/PSP. Anyways, so I put EBOOT.PHP in the UPDATE folder, so now you say I need to "Upgrade". How exactly would I go about doing this and what exactly do you mean? I'm assuming that mean when I go to the Game tab on the PSP menu, scroll to the bottom and click Memory Stick, I see PSP Update Ver. 5.03, which is what I'm guessing I'm supposed to click. :/ You can tell I'm obviously being very cautious here. ------------------- deviantART

	Well, unplug your PSP from the computer, go into your PSP's main menu, go under the game section, go all the way to the bottom to your game memory and you should see an update file. ------------------- blog \| gallery \| last.fm
