Does anyone know or think the dark energy in megaman 8 is actually the maverick virus from the X series?

That's not an original theory. I've heard it numerous times before. I don't know for certain, but I think its definitely possilble.

That's a theoy I'm currently working to prove.

I'm very sure it is the Maverick Virus in an early form, because all of you probably know that the Mega Man series carries to the X series. Mega Man is Mega Man X, because Dr. Light gave him a new feature to react to his own accord. It was dangerous though, so Dr. Light sealed him in a capsule until his functions could be perfected. He was found much later, which evolves the original series into the X series. If anything, Dr. Wily also preserved the Dark Energy Duo tried to destroy.

But there are holes in it.

In MM8, Dark Energy could apparently infect robots and humans alike. But in MMX, the virus only affects reploids.

Hmm..., what is it then? Something has to relate, because if Megaman becomes Megaman X, then other things might carry into the series too.
