He has an 8 game suspension to serve if he ever finds a team to play for. Oh, I didnt know that lol.
So, how does that work? He signs with a team but doesn't get payed for half a season? How will the contract play out?

quoteSt. Louis Post-Dispatch - There aren't many good quarterbacks in the NFL. Marc Bulger clearly ranks among the great ones.
So, yes, Bulger is going to collect top dollar on his next contract, one way or another.
There is no debate here. Bulger is a rare commodity. So the Rams should just do the right thing and lock him in to a long-term contract extension.
If Bulger plays out the final year of his four-year, $19.1 million contract, his value will only grow. He is comfortable with Scott Linehan's offense, which exploits his passing accuracy and does a good job protecting him.
He has terrific weapons at his disposal and he plays behind a maturing offensive line. He is almost certain to post large numbers this season. Source: realgm.com -----
Wow, talk about stating the obvious lol.
But yeah, Bulger 'bout to get paaaiiid!

MNM is just bullshitting, trying to make up for how pathetic the Lions truly are.
Besides, they play Oakland the first game of the year. Kinda hard to go 16-0 when you get your asses kicked right off the bat.

Lol I dont take anything to heart when it comes to the Raiders. We were 2-14 last season, and the laughing stock of the league, while sporting arguably the worst offense in NFL history.
We cant get any worse, which means we MUST be on the rise.

Seeing this only makes the Raiders D stronger. I wouldn't be surprised if they're Top 3 in the league this year on defense. Wouldn't be surprised? We were top 3 in defense LAST SEASON, asshat. Darius obviously makes us quite stronger.
Thing is though, you gotta worry about injuries. He's a really good talent, but the past two seasons, he's been hurt both years. Plus, we're pretty stacked in the defensive backfield. I guess he could challenge Swag for a starting job, but it might be better to try him out at LB.
Man, Darius + Howard + Morrison = Best linebacking trio in football?
Hopefully they try it out before the season.

Those are basically the reasons I would possibly like to have him try out at LB. It would be the best situation for everyone on our defense.
Huff needs to stay at SS; He's gonna be a good one there.
Its a great signing regardless. When you can get someone like Darius at that price (Injuries helped) I find it a good acquisition. Plus he's not too old, so if he stays healthy, he has a few good years left.

The Redskins are just pathetic. They spent all that money over the years and have hardly improved themselves at all. Their QB situation is still uncertain, the defense is far too unreliable, and although Portis is a great talent, he's still far too injury prone.
The Niners are extremely young and talented at most positions. Drafting Willis with their first pick this year was gold, as he'll be great for them at linebacker. Then, you have Smith at QB, who will be far better with a healthy Vernon Davis, and getting Jackson from Seattle was also a nice acquisition.
Niners have a bright future. Gore will lead them to success though, so he just needs to keep doing work.quote UofLCardAttack1
frank gore???and who actually watches the 69ers. I watch the Niners, kid. Just about every week too.
How can anyone actually watch the Skins? They have too many black people.

i never said Portis or Betts were better. read my post. We know what you said, buddy. You were arguing that Portis/Betts form a better "Duo" than what the Niners have, but if Frank Gore ALONE is outperforming two players on the Redskins, your point is basically nullified. There isn't a need for anyone else in the 49ers backfield, especially when you have a guy who was top 3 in the league in rushing.
quoteforget all that. last year was last year. im talking this season. for the millionth time, what happens if Gore blows out one of those bad knees? SF is screwed! Washington has 2 starting RB's, that is a luxury the 9ers dont have. Frank Gore played in 14 games in 2005, and all 16 games in 2006. There is no reason to believe Gore will suffer any significant injury. If anything, you should be worried about Portis and his own durability.
Also, dont sleep on Maurice Hicks, San Fran's backup RB. He didnt get any burn last season due to Gore's dominance, but in 2005, he averaged over 5 yards per carry in his brief action. If given the opportunity, you dont know how good the guy can be. Betts just has had more carries due to injuries/openings.
I actually agree with you about Fletcher though. It was a tremendous signing by Washington. The guy has been an absolute beast over the years, and you can already pencil in 110+ tackles for the guy.

I think you might be getting a little ahead of yourself. He will have a solid season, but I don't know if he is going to have a 110+ tackle seasons. WTF? Dude, I was even UNDER-RATING what I think Fletcher will do this up-coming season.
Past 7 Seasons:
2000: 133 tackles 2001: 119 tackles 2002: 149 tackles 2003: 133 tackles 2004: 144 tackles 2005: 158 tackles 2006: 146 tackles
Avg: 140.3 tackles
So, how the heck can you not expect ATLEAST 110 tackles this season?

Naw Daunte is gonna comeback but if he goes to the raiders its gonna be hard as shit with that line Our O-Line is going to be fine. You obviously didnt follow the Raiders and are just going by what the media tells you about us.
We brought in Tom Cable as our O-Line coach, and he should turn the unit into one that is much more capable than how they played last season. We had arguably the worst coaching staff (minus Defensive coordinator) in sports history. All of them were out-dated and did not know how to run an offense in todays game.
The O-Line isn't top notch, but certainly are not as bad as they appeared last season.
I like the signing of Culpepper. Not sure of how much he'll make, but it cant be a whole lot after his injury plagued season last year. Plus, he's basically a stop gap until Russell signs and is ready to play. Besides, Culpepper will still battle McCown for the starting job.

anyone know who's the starter at RB for the Raiders? is Michael Bush healthy and is he battling for the starting spot?
LaMont Jordan is the starter, with probably Justin Fargas the backup for now since Rhodes got busted for substance abuse.
Michael Bush probably wont see any action (atleast much) this year because Oakland doesn't want to risk an injury, but he's definitely our RB of the future. We were so fortunate he fell to the 4th round.

Thanks for proving you didn't follow the Raiders much last season (which is understandable) and dont understand just how bad our coaching staff was, golden.
Players are getting moved around on the line (Especially Gallery who was playing out of position), and with a more expansive offensive playbook, they will be given more opportunity to do well. When your QB does the exact same thing every play, how did you expect the line to block anybody? They were sitting ducks.

I'm simply inquiring about how often he watched the Raiders, a team he apparently knows so much about.
I never said a new playbook would solve all of their faults, but it certainly does help when players are constantly moving and expanding the type of runs/passes they run. It keeps defenses on their toes. Teams last year would just blitz us non-stop because of how simplistic everything was offensively for us.

That doesn't matter. I know what I'm talking about and everyone can see it. I don't just foam at the mouth with piss poor things to say. Your main argument has just become "Well you haven't watched any of the games". How can you comment and criticize the Raiders offensive line when you know almost nothing about them? You know their names, and apparently, thats it. You didnt watch them play, you didnt watch our coaches coach, so you obviously dont know a whole lot about the team.
It means everything. You dont see me going and bashing Buffalo, or Detroit, or whoever because I dont know a lot about those teams and their tendencies. You're basically basing your opinion off of the "Stereotype" of most bad defenses, which is ignorant.
If you actually WATCHED Oakland play, you'd realize the excess amount of negativity you are giving our line isn't warranted. They weren't very good, thats a fact, but placing almost ALL of the blame on them just proves you dont know what you're talking about.
Watch our games (and learn about the team) or just stop posting garbage. It's okay to comment on other teams, as long as you know something about them and have watched them play enough times.

How about you bring up a new topic then instead of spamming with a pointless post?quote Kratoskilla
On a different route do any of you seeing David Carr playing at all this year? Carr really does deserve another chance in the league. He was thrown into a horrible situation his rookie season behind a bad offensive line. Things never changed, and he never got a chance to show what he can do. Give the guy some time in the pocket and I think he could be a solid QB.

re: NFL Offseason Discussion III

You say I provide no substance to my posts, but you haven't either. You have shown no personal knowledge of the Raiders, and are just saying every part of their team sucks based on the stats you read in the boxscore.
You'd probably say Aaron Brooks and Andrew Walter were the worst QBs ever, right? You know, since their STATS were so bad. Yeah, and going by STATS, our offensive line was pretty bad. But you know, the coaches dont have STATS that are shown after every game to judge their performance and give those who dont watch the team (i.e. you) a chance to judge them.
And no, you can comment on the Bills because you are a fan of the team and are quite knowledgable of them. Besides, I've already posted about why I think you're wrong on the subject (Raiders O-Line), and all you come back with is "Well its not like running a fly route will change anything", basically throwing out a basic play and attaching to the Raiders like it has some meaning.
You're wrong on the subject. The O-Line isn't great, but it was severely hurt by the coaches and their piss poor play calling. Players were out of position and not having a solid QB behind them didn't help as well. Walter had never had significant time so he was basically a rookie out there. It was a disaster of a year, and everything went wrong offensively. But, they are not as bad as you say, and claiming they will be WORSE this year is just ridiculous.
EDIT: And its not that you know "nothing" about the Raiders, just "not much."

Who is the QB for the Dolphins? I honestly have no clue who it is.
The Dolphins just seem like one of those teams in limbo. I do know that they need to run Ronnie Brown into the ground though. He's basically their entire offense.

Just so some douche doesn't report this, I honestly think the Raiders have a legitimate shot at going 0-16. I dont understand how a team that really improves themselves in the offseason is going to step back and win TWO less games than they did a year ago. You're obviously just being a hater, as we've improved the coaching staff, our defense, AND the offense.
