That new Sabres jersey has a similar color scheme to the Predators, except for the fact that the Sabres logo absolutely sucks. Both games I had on Versus last night went into OT, first going to a shootout. Pretty solid night, though there won't be hockey on that channel again until next Tuesday At least I'll get to watch Lightning games until then.

Wow, two teams I don't like in a game I don't care about... and it was the best game of the season! Wish I could have seen it and not settled for the highlights, but gotta love Emery the goalie with a big grin on his face picking fights with not only the Buffalo goalie, but a Buffalo forward as well. After all of that ended, the game continued to be great and it went to a shootout, and these teams play again in a couple days! I wish Drury hadn't gotten hurt, but it's nice to see some actual physical play and fighting in a sport that I don't find as exciting as it used to be.

Why? He's on a team that can be a Cup contender if DiPietro gets hot in the playoffs. I don't see why he'd purposely not help his new team.

Hockey works down here in Tampa Bay, we have a good number of hockey fans around here. Can't say the same for the worthless Panthers though Send them up to Canada, they keep losing teams there anyway. I just hope they don't fiddle with the divisions too much if the Penguins move out west. The only team I can think of that wouldn't seem too out of place to replace Pittsburgh in the Atlantic division are the Boston Bruins.

Discussion About Phazing Fighting out of the NHL Arises

Heard this on ESPN but was hard to find this story online. To be honest, I haven't liked hockey as much as I did before the lockout since I liked the physical play, which has gone down for a more open ice kind of play. I enjoy goalie saves and sweet goals and all, but that was in the game before the lockout as well. Quite frankly, if they wind up taking fighting out of the NHL, which occurs less often to begin with, the parts that are exciting about hockey will just dwindle down more. The Olympic hockey is okay in short bursts, but I always wished there was more physical play in those games (or any physical play at all in women's hockey). Hockey has been my favorite sport for my entire life, that would change if the physical play in hockey is decreased even further.
