	Forwards would be Thornton, Jagr, Crosby, Alfredsson, Spezza, Heatley, Staal, Forseberg, Ovechkin, and Kovalchuk. Nash, Lecavalier, Marleau, and Havlat get honorable mentions. For defensemen; Niedermayer, Pronger, Lidstrom, Chara, Zubov, Redden, Phaneuf, Jovanovski, Visnovsky, and McCabe. Not a lot of superstars at defense anymore. Those are the ones I think are the ten best all around defensemen in the NHL. But defense has changed a lot in the last couple of years. The best defensive units are now those with balance and team speed. Such as Minnesotra, Buffalo, Detroit, and Phoenix. And for the heck of it, top 5 goalies: Kipprusoff, Brodeur, Luongo, Lundqvist, and Vokoun. -------------------

	Bruins had a 2-0 lead heading into the final four minutes of tonight's game against St Louis, but the Blues scored two goals to force overtime, then the Bruins blew the shootout to lose 3-2 (shootout went 2-1 Blues). This is starting to remind me of last year already, where the Bruins couldn't hold a lead to save their lives and couldn't do jack shit on the powerplay, in overtime, or during the shootout. Excuse me while I... Most are or better than before except for Fedorov. His best days are clearly behind him, he's out with injuries for about another month or so. Khabibulin isn't the best goalie either. Although when the injured Evgeni Malkin finally gets to play (could be in 2 weeks or so) keep an eye on him, he could be something special. Goalie-wise, Kiprusoff & Turco are the best 2 right now, Brodeur is still among the elite, after them I'd have Henrik Lundqvist and Dominik Hasek. Yes, that Dominik Hasek.

(ESPN personality) I wish I could've gotten Caps tickets for tomorrow, they're honoring Alexander The Great on his ROY title from last year, everyone in attendance gets collectible Ovechkin coins. But early on it's the other Alexander (Semin) that may be overshadowing Ovechkin. Sure glad he got that contract dispute settled, another potent offensive weapon for the Caps. 	Nice to see my Sharks getting out to a good start. The offense has been very impressive, led by Marleau and Thornton. Michalek has also been an efficient goal scorer thus far. I'd like to see the defense tighten up a bit, but cant complain with being in first. ------------------- VESTS! VESTS! I GOT VESTS!

	Looks like tomorrow's the night we've been waiting for-Evgeni Malkin will make his NHL debut in Pittsburgh's game against New Jersey. Despite missing a few games with that shoulder injury I still expect him to make a big impact right away and finish the season in the range of 70-80 points.
