has anyone else noticed this happening....every off season the Yankees make all these aquisitions of all these superstars for their team, but when it comes to trade talks, they are the team that is mentioned that needs players. even though its an extreme longshot but Randy Johnson is being talked about as posibily being sent to the big apple.....isn't it all just too much.

If the Yanks get Johnson, they might as well just get every .350 batter in the league and 2.50 ERA pitchers. They are a great team but noone will like baseball if they are huge pushovers.

So anyone hear about the rumor that the Yankees want to bring over Beltran after this 2004/2005 season since he becomes a Freaa Agent?

I don't think the Astros are going to make a run for him. The Dodgers might but they're going to have to give up some pitching since KC is lacking in that department along with a AAA position player. Plus, they have to think about Gagne's contract at the end of the season. He's going to make some heavy $$$!

well if Beltran does go to the Angels, it would have to deal some of their star outfielders away. i mean the angels have Anderson, Guerrero, Guillen, Salmon, Mondesi and that fast Figgins utility player. if any thing, i can see him either being traded to the Dodgers or signing with the Pads in the off season. although if he is delt to the Reds or signs with them, he'd be pushed over to RF cause i don't care how old he's getting, Centerfield is Griffey territory...........well until his next injury.

well the MEts acquired Astros Outfielder Richard Hidalgo, for a decent releiver and a minor leaguer.
VERY GOOD for the MEts if RIchard can start hitting SOoooon.

The Marlins traded for Billy Koch and sum cash from the WHite Sox in exchange for a good minor league SS.
He'll be a good SETUP MAN for the World Champs, and shood stablise thier bullpen.

Will the Dodgers make the playoffs-ah let's see (thinks carefully)- nope. They just don't have the pitching and hitting to get them their. They have the hitting but they still can't produce enough runs in my opinion to be a playoff bound team.

I doubt any teams will give up pitching or hitting to the Dodgers. The Dodgers dont have a lot to give up since they have guys with big contracts no one will pick up and the guys they have they need to keep, not trade. They can't trade Izturis, Roberts, Lo Duca or Beltre who are very important to the teams success and those four are probably the only players other teams are looking at.

I think once Izturis develops, Green is out of L.A and their guys in the minor league develop, they could be an awesome team in the future.
