Screw Steinbrenner. If his players aren't named MVP, ROY or World Series Champions, suddenly everything is an injustice. Please. I didn't think Matsui deserved it from day 1 to begin with...for one reason..he ISN'T a rookie!

He's 28 and he's had several years of big time ball experience which is why he did well this year. If he was a true rookie, he probably would have been named ROY but he isn't a true rookie. He's had several years of pro baseball experience which is why several voters didn't even include Matsui on their ballet.

Steinbrenner needs to shut his fat face and admit there are better players than his own players.

I mean, let's be a little fair on good ol' Georgie. Ichiro was named ROY 3 years ago... but that's because he damn well deserved the award. Matsui did... "meh" the whole season. His fielding is terrible! I don't think he deserves it at all.

Baseball is now my favorite sport. I only think that because I watched one World Series game. After that, I couldn't wait for the rest of the games.

I thought Matsui did pretty good with hitting. His fielding isn't too good, but he still seems to hit very well, or at least better than most of the other Yankee players.

I'm just basing this off of the postseason, because I didn't really watch baseball that much before.

A-Rod has $189 Million left on his contract for the next 7 years. And that figure right there is literally scaring the hell out of other baseball team owners. Even though I love Nomar(he's probably my favorite player), A-Rod wouldn't be a bad option at all. What would really be sweet is if Boston could somehow aquire A-Rod but keep Nomar at the same time and put Nomar or A-Rod at third base(probably Nomar).

Boston and NY are really the only teams who have enough money for A-Rod in the first place but obviously New York won't go after him as long as they have Jeter(even though A-Rod is much better).

Yeah, I see what you mean and I agree. If A-Rod was willing to take a serious paycut(which he should be willing to do), a lot more teams would be interested. If he were to maybe drop his figure down to $90 Million over the next 7 years, a lot more teams would be interested. Its not like he doesn't have enough money already so he should be willing to take a paycut if he truly wants to play for a better team.

I highly doubt A-Rod will be a Ranger for the next 7 years. A-Rod has already said he wants to play for a team that is going somewhere. If he truly wants to play for a good team, he will be willing to sacrifice a paycut to play for a good team. Besides, why would Texas want a player that has said he doesn't want to play for them. That doesn't exactly give him a lot of motivation.

Because the Rangers offered him $250 million over 10 years. Noone in the world would turn that offer down no matter how bad the team is. Thats why he signed with the Rangers.
