Much to the dismay of Blake Griffin, Serge Ibaka was hit with a fine--but
not suspended--for striking Griffin in the groin during Sunday's Thunder/Clippers game. The Flagrant-1 that he was hit with was upgraded to a Flagrant-2, which would have been an ejection.
SourceBlake Griffin's reactionI don't care who the Thunder are playing tonight because Serge Ibaka should have been ejected
and suspended. I might have taken a different stance about this in the past, but hitting below the belt-accidental or otherwise-is bush league. In this instance, both an ejection and suspension were warranted, but I don't know how the NBA managed to *bleep* that up twice: on the court with the initial call (even after review), and off the court by not suspending the offender.
Maybe the NBA stands for "No Brains Association" because that's a pretty obvious gaffe imo.
