quote Zarathustra
I remember that Malholtra one and this incident doesn't look much better. I know a lot of guys don't like wearing the visors because they reckon in can get in the way sometimes (I remember Ian White having to wear one after a puck to the face last year for some time and he kept complaining about getting the puck lost in his feet because of it), but as with any equipment the more you use it the less those sorts of things will bother you. I really think that all players should at least have a visor as part of their equipment because these incidents, while rare, are frighteningly dangerous.
Indeed, and this reminds me of when a baseball pitcher gets drilled by a line drive in the face and how scary that shit is. I've seen it happen before during a game on TV, and last season when that Oakland A's pitcher got drilled in the head, and it's very scary to witness.
And I hope Marc Staal makes it back to the NHL.
Going in a different direction, the Blackhawks record Points streak
almost came to an end Wednesday night. But not if Jonathan Toews and Daniel Carcillo could help it--Toews scored the Game-Tying Shorthanded Goal 2:19 into the Third, and Daniel Carcillo scored the Game-Winner with 50 seconds in regulation.
That makes 24 games with at least one point to start the season and a Franchise-Record 11 straight wins. In this instance, they've gone half the season without losing a game in regulation.
I'm running out of superlatives to describe how *bleep*ing good this Blackhawks team is.
