Earlier today, it was announced that Redskins Offensive Coordinator Kyle Shannahan got hit with a $25K fine for his actions during Sunday's loss to the Bengals. The actions include a 15-yard penalty for berating an on-field official and confronting an official after the game in the stadium's tunnel.

Bill Belichick got the heavier end of it, taking a $50K fine for trying to grab one of the referees by the arm after Sunday's controversial one-point hosing in Baltimore. (I stopped short of calling it highly controversial because the exponentially greater controversy happened Monday night). I thought the fine was too harsh because in terms of conduct with on-field officials he had always been the gold standard--this is the first fine for such behavior in Bill Belichick's coaching career. Plus, the referee he was trying to get the attention of was being an outright obnoxious douchebag that wouldn't even give him the time of day.

That's my two cents on that, even though the replacements totally suck.

I HATE both the Packers and Seahawks, but I haven't been that upset during a game in a long time. The refs were pathetic. That final drive was horrendous call after horrendous call. The roughing the passer, defensive pass interference, and final play were screwjobs. *bleep*ing pissed me off so much. I raged bad.

Things need to get settled with the refs soon.

Speaking of settling things, looks like were at 4th and Inches on the Goal Line in terms of getting a deal done.

An agreement in principle is at hand according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, and if this gets done fast enough, the regular referees could return to calling the games for this weekend's games.

I've got my fingers crossed that we're at the end of this replacement referee bullshit.

No kidding--I was getting tired at cussing those guys out and making all sorts of insults at them.

Another detail that I just found out: the regular referees will be working Thursday Night's game. I just had to do something with the forum header as a result.

What the *bleep* is that?! Are you blind?!

If Goodellis the Commish for 20+ years, the NFL is gonna fall in popularity big time. He' already alienated many fans, made the game less entertaining (but safer) and most of the players can't stand him either. Imo, he too hypocritical on safety. He'll fine some players for hits to the head and let others go by unscathed. If the owners want the NFL to remain the most popular American sport, they need to look for a replacement ASAP. Get someone with some integrity, not a two-faced puppet.

That hit had to be one of the worst I've ever seen. God I hope that guy is okay.

Either way, the second he got hit, he was gone.
