Justin Gatlin?

Abit late for this discussion but nevertheless quite simply, he was given a ban, served it and then competed again. The topic of drug bans and whether they should compete at the olympics is a whole new discussion where we could be here for a rather long time! I'm of the opinion that if you get caught once, they should be given the ban and let them compete again (it could've been accidental). However, if they do it twice then the likelihood of them doing it to try and gain an advantage is pretty damn high and therefore they should be banned for life.

I've had a few beers so I hope that makes sense.

So what are you saying? Anyone who has taken drugs is automatically banned for life from the olympics? From any athletics event? Or once is fair enough. Twice is another matter?

Agree with the sentiments of this thread. Gatlin should pay for his mistakes by being banned from Olympic competition. He should still be allowed to race in World Championships once his ban is served but not the Olympics.

Sickening really for Gay that he got bronze ahead of him and Gay so unlucky in the last Olympics to pull up before it in his peak too. Gatlin already got the feeling of holding up an Olympic gold completely falsely and then he gets awarded another two medals in Olympics. A bit unfair.
