I managed to see the final of the Women's 10K Swimming Marathon earlier today, and it was a fantastic finish decided by four-tenths of a second with the Americans finishing second. However, this is the first Medal for the Americans in this event, so the next goal in this event is to go for the gold.

Watching the Women's Soccer final between USA and Japan, and it's been a good match--none of this "thuggery" crap that I've seen earlier in the Games (case and point Abby Wambach getting sucker-punched in the Prelims).

Canada picks up four medals today. I was shocked to see that they had won two this morning and then got two more after that. May not be Gold medals but I'll take what we get.

That was the Bronze Medal Match between France and Canada, right? I look at that match as a case of "not how many shots you get, but how many find the back of the net." Canada was outshot 25-4, yet won the match 1-0.

US Women's Soccer gets gold! Carli Lloyd had the game of her like scoring both goals in the 2-1 victory.

And as of right now the US has 89 medals to China's 79. Gold count is only 38-37 US though.

The women's soccer final was great, as women's soccer tournaments usually are actually. Anyone who missed it really did miss out. USA got some revenge for last year when Japan beat them in the World Cup final. Homare Sawa for Japan was awesome then, but fairly anonymous during most of this tournament unfortunately. Japan are a great technical side but really lack a finisher in front of goal. With some better finishing tonight they could have taken this match into extra time at least. Not taking away from Hope Solo's great effort in goal though; she kept USA in it at times.

Couldn't help but feel a little sorry for France earlier in the bronze medal match which they lost to Canada 1-0. The match was all France who had something like over 20 shots on target to Canada's 2 or 3 and Canada got lucky and stole it in the last minutes. France really paid the price for their inability to be clinical in front of goal and walked away with nothing for their efforts. Tough break. I think overall Canada deserved a medal after their heartbreaking loss to the USA in the semi final match though; they've really had an exceptional tournament for them and come a long way as a team under coach John Herdman.

Overall another success on the whole for the women's soccer game generally as this was a great tournament with a high standard of soccer being played. There's still room for improvement in regards to some of the officiating I feel, particularly exposed during the Canada vs. USA match, but an attendance of over 80,000 at Wembley Stadium for the final shows interest is growing, and rightfully so. I'm delighted to hear there are plans afoot for a new professional women's soccer league in the USA to be formed after the former one folded to hopefully build on the success of the USA national team. The game really needs people to support it at a grassroots and local level and it's very much worth doing so. It'd be a real shame for there to be no women's soccer league in the country which achieves so much on the international stage.

Usain Bolt is just ridiculous. At least the American got 4th behind all the Jamaicans.

Also I didn't watch the Olympics at all yesterday, not even the track and field. I thought I would of missed the guys 4by100 meter relay but I didn't, that's tonight. I can't wait to see Usain Bolt/theJamaicans dominate again, good luck to the American team too.

I missed the American women's 4by100 meter relay. But I seen the race that got them into the semifinals or whatever. I knew they would break the world record/Olympic record (whatever).

The only thing I really want to watch before the closing ceremonies and stuff is the rest of track and field, and random stuff now. This Olympics has been great, I cannot wait for the next one. I can't believe it's all almost over. D:
