Yeah, that's what I was getting at. The Preds can't have a huge amount of money lying around, and even though they managed to keep a vitally important piece of the team, I can't see them suddenly making enough revenue to boost their coffers. Considering that they're basically paying him $27 million for this one year it is an insane amount of money for a club without a strong financial situation.

God damnit. 7 million seems way high though.

Apparently he was asking for $7M a year here and if he couldn't get that then he was going to head off to the KHL.

Will be interesting to see if Carolina can get more out of him than Washington have these past couple of seasons.

The Canada-Russia Challenge starts tomorrow. I'm expecting the Russians to come out on top to be honest, much like the last 2 Canada vs Russia junior games. But I'm still expecting 2 great games when the series hits Halifax.
