It would be time to fire Bettman if that happened imo, even though both sides are insisting that progress is being made.

If progress is indeed being made, then they just might make it; if not then the 2012-2013 season could be lost. Which would be a travesty in itself, especially having that happen twice under one Commissioner.

If the NHL goes into a bloody lockout I'm going to be so pissed off. The way my uni timetabling works I have a massive holiday at the start of next year, but outside of that I hardly get any time off for the next few years. Next year is the only chance I'll have for quite some time to go and watch some NHL games, and it'd be just my luck that they'd have a lockout.

The owners know they'll get what they want eventually, because at the end of the day, the players want to play.

Sounds like American politicians: greedy individuals that have themselves on their agenda (which mostly applies to the Republican party).

The most recent round of negotiations was pushed back a day, as Commissioner Bettman and Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly met for two hours with Donald and Steve Fehr, the NHLPA Executive Director and the #2 man in the union, respectively.

Can't really gauge anything out of this, just hoping for a CBA to be ratified.

So if there is a lockout, which is very likely, we are going to be 0 for 3 in CBA renewals under Bettman. How does this guy still have his job?
