Drafts

With the NBA draft lottery upon us, I pose a question to the rest of you sports goers: Which type of draft is the best for a sport? As most people know, many teams intentionally tank the latter part of their season so to get the best prospect in the draft class. In the NBA, teams like the Bobcats and Cavs were accused of that, and with good reason. But with the lottery, even the almost-playoff teams have a chance to get a high pick. In most other sports the worst team gets the top pick and so on. Which I think is bullshit. It only gives teams incentive to suck when they don't have a chance at the playoffs, which makes fans of those teams not want to watch. I like the lottery, it's decently entertaining and can make a good team great with a little luck. But drafts as a whole can be improved. I think something like a reverse of the NFL system would work, but only with the teams that miss the playoffs. So the team who were the closest to making the playoffs would have the first pick and so on until the worst team gets the last pick out of the teams who missed. Then the rest of the draft would be how it is now, with the champion picking last. Thoughts?
