	As I was telling DragonMaster Dyne last night, I think the Yankees got the better end of the stick. Righty bats in Safeco aren't nearly as solid as LH'ers, and Montero is bound to be a DH, unless he loses some weight/trims up a bit and becomes more flexible. He's equivalent to a Shortstop that is solid only at balls hit right to him. Still, he should give the Mariners some much needed offense, which can never hurt, but I would definitely rather have a solid 2-3 Starter than a DH. Anything can happen, though, so who knows? He could be the next Pujols for all I know.

	There was nothing to pass up! 	The Mariners need offense. I don't give a bleep where Montero plays. Catcher, 1B, OF, DH. It doesn't matter. He instantly becomes our best hitter, along with Dustin Ackley. It's a great trade for Seattle as well. And Montero's powers isn't only about his long-ball potential. He simply hits the ball HARD all of the time. This guy is going to kill the gaps. He'll hit for a high average and put up numbers. Pineda has one year under his belt and only has two pitches right now. He's a long ways from being a dominant force. Plus Seattle has a ton of strong, young arms in their minor league system. ------------------- VESTS! VESTS! I GOT VESTS!

	62 ABs isn't enough time to say he will be your best hitter. He should strictly be a DH. Smoak is pretty good defensively and was smoking the ball early in the season, so if Smoak gets some more consistency, Ichiro returns to form, Montero is the prophet like you said he is, I still think the Mariners are still not going to beat the Angels or Rangers. There are just too many ifs. They are doing a solid job rebuilding, though. Edit: Jan 16, 12 3:34pm

Defiance - Here's hoping they do, along with the new Miami Marlins, the GNats, and that other team not named the Phillies.

Turns .240 hitters into .300 hitters and turns 3.50 ERA pitchers into 4.50 ERA pitchers... so it will be extremely difficult for Moyer, but his work ethic is something to be amazed with.
