Seriously, Pap ain't Mo--he isn't entering to "Enter the Sandman" by Metallica, and he sure as heck doesn't have as many saves in his career. 	I feel like the Phillies are throwing money out that they won't be able to sustain. We need a Shortstop, a Left fielder, and a good backup utility guy who plays third and first. We have none.

	It turns out that Terry Francona won't be reuniting with Theo Epstein for the 2012 season with the Cubs. After losing out on the Cardinals job to Mike Matheny, it looks like Tito's looking for a job in broadcasting. 	Just out of curiosity, how do some of you feel about the Stros move to the AL and adding a 2nd wild card along with interleague games being played every week? As an Astros fan, it's sad to see the rivalry between the us and Cards go, but we gain one in the form of the Rangers. From an overall perspective, I'm not sure that I like the idea of adding a 2nd wild card. The only thing it really does is add incentive to win the division (since both wild cards would play a 1 game playoff?). As for there being interleague games every day, I really couldn't care less.

	I thought that with the alignment difference, there will be the same amount of Interleague games as normal, just more spread out throughout the season. AS for the move, I kind of expected it.

	I'd rather see two Wild Card teams added for each League. The playoff tee would resemble the NFL's, albeit series for each round. Going along these lines, the first round would be a three-game series, the second round a five-game series, and rounds 3 and 4 would be a seven-game series. 	The second wild card is absolute bullshit. It's an idiotic idea and I don't know how someone involved with executive decisions who thinks it's appropriate is even smart enough to bleeping breathe let alone have such a position. It's an 162 game season. That's bleeping enough to determine who gets the wild card, not some BS 1 game series between two teams. What if a 96 win Red Sox, who finish in second behind a 97 win Yankees, are forced to play a 86 win Angels?? How about this. The Yankees and Red Sox are tied at the end of the year with 97 wins or something really high like that. I'm sure in the final game of the year they both threw their aces. Now they need to play a one game series to determine the division winner, right? So they each throw their second starters against each other. Let's say the Red Sox lose. NOW, the Red Sox, on the road, need to go to some 85 win team and face that team's ace using their #3 starter. In a goddamn 162 game season. It's idiotic.

	It took them a while, but the Red Sox have their man to fill the void left by Terry Francona as manager. Bobby Valentine has been offered and accepted the Red Sox managerial job, with an announcement to come Wednesday (Valentine was in Japan on Tuesday for a charity event). 	I have mixed feelings about this. I like the fact that Valentine is kind of egotistical guy because perhaps that means he won't let anyone step out of line. At the same time, I just never liked him as a manager. I just never saw much out of him. We'll see I guess. He wasn't my first choice but it is what it is. ------------------- 1, 2, 3, 4

	Bobby Valentine is one of my least favorite baseball people in the game. I cannot stand his cockiness, nor his inflated ego. That being said, I am glad to see he's in the American League. Not that I care about post counts, but this is my 6000th. Only took 9 years

	Looks like the Miami Marlins have made a big acquisition: Jose Reyes reportedly signed a 6 year, 106 million dollar contract. Source I'm wondering where Hanley Ramirez will go. His glove at SS left a lot to be desired, and he had a pretty putrid year last season, but in just two years past he batted .342 and .300. I don't know if he'll be a good defensive CenterFielder, which is the main rumor I've heard, but he could either end up there or at Third Base, where he may be better suited. He could also provide valuable trade bait. Either way, that Marlins lineup is actually really scary next year, and as a Phillies fan, I'm not looking forward to facing them.
