Guerrero's got a cut near his left eye after 8 rounds. In Round 9, Mayweather appeared to be bleeding out his right nostril.

I did not think I would be home in time for the main event, but it's clear that I was wrong.

And we are going to the scorecards. According to the punch stats, it looks like Mayweather should win, emphasis on the word "should."

No ring rust whatsoever--Floyd "Money" Mayweather still got it!

Looked like Mayweather hurt his right hand midway through the fight. I didn't see where he might have hurt his hand, but it's swollen up pretty darn good.

I keep wondering if Mayweather is just really good or if he just picks opponents he knows he can beat. I'm going with both.

He's one of the most protected athletes in the history of the world.

I can understand why he doesn't want to lose. Being world champion doesn't make you a legend anymore or classifies you as the best. Being a multi-champion helps with that. But being an undefeated, multi-champion athlete? Well that is a very rare feat.

At this point, I bet Mayweather is betting the world will remember him for being an undefeated, super champion instead of a guy who simply ran away.

It's definitely both. There is no *bleep*ing doubt in the world that Floyd is an amazing boxer. Look at his hand speed, timing, how he can just elude people. But this is also the bullshit that goes on in boxing, especially someone like Floyd who is essentially his own manager, they pick their own fights. Could you imagine if every other sport was like that? What if the AFC champs refused to play the NFC champs at the Superbowl? That'd be ridiculous.

Something like that did happen in MLB. After the Boston Americans won the first World Series in 1903, in the following season the defending champions would be facing the New York Highlanders in the final series of the season with the AL Pennant on the line.

On a side note, the Boston Americans would eventually be called the Red Sox, and the New York Highlanders the Yankees. A sign of things to come in what was [at the time] a budding rivalry that exploded to be one of the best in all of sports.

While Boston won the series and the pennant, there was no World Series in 1904 because the NL Pennant winning New York Baseball Giants refused to play the pennant winner on grounds that it would give another team from New York City credit.

If something like that were to happen now, then there would be a lot of trouble for whomever voted for such a decision.
