I haven't read through this thread I admit, but I've rarely seen an American hold their hands up and just take a defeat without any buts of ifs. It's my own experience and that's what I'm basing it on. Some people see being a sore loser as a good thing, I personally don't. You can distrust Communist governments all you want, but I wouldn't trust any government and I don't think politics should have any part of sports. It's the whole reason the Olympics are in Beiijing in the first place, people complained about China's questionable human rights but they went ahead in Beiijing because politics and sport shouldn't mix. You guys place it on me as to bringing in the Communism thing, yet you keep throwing it back at me? I was raised and taught that communism is a bad thing, can't just change my beliefs on a whim decision. I'd rather end this argument now. China has won. Whether it was fair or not, no one knows, I don't believe so, you do. Either way, I'll deal with it. Does anyone know what events are currently going on? Btw, Kafani what argument? You asked if the US would replace ugly singers, and I said no. Most people choose to be songwriters for a certain person, their not forced to do it. ------------------- :)

Like I said, some people think being a sore loser is a good thing, a sign of a true winner. I don't. It's a matter of opinion. It's the only thing I truly find irritating about Americans I've met. I don't want you to say "I agree, you beat us." I'm talking 1996 Olympics here. Michelle Smith comes out of nowhere to win 3 gold medals and a bronze in the pool. Yea, it was amazing, completely out of the blue. All it would've taken would for the American swimmer, I can't remember her name, to simply say, well done to her, it's an amazing achievement and I'm sure she'll agree that nobody would've predicted it. But no, she had to suggest doping and every single one of those medals have been discredited as a result. She was never proven guilty of doping, she was never stripped of her medals, yet because of a sore loser, she'll never get the credit she deserves. Jesh, I wasn't throwing anything back at you. I was just responding to your comment that you distrust Communism. Obviously you do and history will show you that you have every right to, I was just stating my opinion that politics shouldn't factor in an athlete's ability or victory, sorry if that wasn't your point. I think the main reasons America as a whole doesn't take defeat well is because we aren't necessarily used to losing. While I'll agree being a sore loser means you hate to lose as well and hating to lose is the sign of a winner; I believe you can hate to lose yet still lose professionally.

	Last time I checked, they weren't. They may have more medals total, but China is comfortably winning the tally, 8 gold ahead of the US.
