Frequency For The Musically Non-Inclined? |
|
Is Frequency a game that anybody with horrible music skills should be playing? I'm interested in trying it, but I'm afraid that I'm going to spend $40 on a game that I'm just going to end up scratching my head over. Kind of like when I try to play a guitar. LOL.

You need to have fast fingers, and a good beat in your head. The controls take a smidge to get used to. But I suggest starting out with Parappa The Rapper 1, PSX or 2, PS2 (although 2 is slightly easier) The Um Jammer Lammy, PSX. Then go to Samba De Amigo for DC.(Or Bust-a- Groove, PSX). Then you should rent Frequency. If you like what you hear, buy it...

Man this game is very difficult. I have been playing this for hours, and still not fully used to it. Cannot move my fingers fast enough, and get out of sync. Press the middle instead of the 3rd note etc. LOL.
But this game is well worth buying and heaps of fun. My scores are slowly increasing, so I guess I am slowly improving. The track is very much like a musical stave, only laying flat, and looks the same same as a musical stave, and divided in the same way. I guess it also comes down to memorizing the song, and it's beat also. If only my fingers could move fast enough. Does not help when we are in our winter here, and having cold fingers makes it very hard for them to move quickly. May get better results when things warm up. LOL

This game everyone should buy!
At the start you'll probably get frustrated and stop playing, but keep at it and you'll get better, it's kindof addicting! -FreQ PHOENiX I finally beat Frequency with 2499 on smartbomb! If you want to see all my high scores and tip visit http://*snip* and click on Frequency

You really need to have a bit of experience in these type of games to play good from the start. But if you have no experience in the genre, you will pick it up eventually, but you might be slower than someone who likes these kind of games.

Do you guys think this game would be a good teaching tool for those who feel they have no rhythm? Well, rhythm as far as music goes, anyway. I actually got the chance to try this game out for a few hours when a friend came over and it's CRAZY! I've never had to get sequences down so quickly in my life!
