iPad ff3 Gaining JP/Levels but no MP?

I recently unlocked the last set of jobs in ff3 as well as Onion Knight and switched two of my characters (one to OK and the other to Summoner). Then I spent an hour getting them about 20 job levels each. When I looked I noticed neither character had gained any MP, meaning I couldn't cast magic w/ the OK or summons with the Summoner. I tried getting them adventurer levels, that didn't change anything. I tried switching jobs on another character, same problem.

I'm sure there is something really simple I'm missing and hope someone on this forum might be able to offer some guidance.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate your help.

I've tried increasing my regular levels as well and had no luck gaining any MP. Whats strange also is that one of my characters is stuck with 13's across the board for his stats regardless of what his level is. The response I got from Square was that they don't give out game info, which means there is likely something really handless I'm doing.

I'll keep messing with the characters and report back any results.

So i've taken my Onion Knight from level 48 to 57 (regular levels, not job levels) and haven't gained any MP. I tried leveling up my summoner as well and didn't have any luck.

At this point I'm hoping I can beat the game with a bard and 3 physical attackers (unless I finish my Geomancer).

maybe resting at the inn/drinking water might help?
