I just got this game since I have played both rally championship 2000 and colin mcrae 2.0 so much and wanted some new rally fix.

First I tried it in win xp, car handling was if not terrible but not up to par with colin mcrae 2.0. At least it didn´t have that floating feel of rc 2000 but sliding the car more often than not resulted in naughty return slides. But you get used to it and you just adjust your driving to it.

About the graphics so the environments looks good but the cars just doesn´t look real, really good you don´t see much from them except in the replays so again, no big deal the environments look really good. But the game has problem giving you a constant fps which really shows when the driving surface changes from gravel to tarmac for example. The change in fps really kills your sensation of speed which you only get in the replays missed opportunity.

And about sound.... Awful, just awful especially car sounds are so weak it´s ridiculous.

About force feedback which I got to work in win 98se, hey, you want even notice the game supports force feedback most of the times since you just get some shakes now and then for some reason. Driving straight there happens nothing at all with your wheel.

I thought this game would be at least as good as colin mcrae 2, to bad it wasn´t.

Okay! I have to reply to my old post since I am now playing a totally different game. Rally championship xtreme with 31.40 whql dets. Did I complain anything about the graphics or speed sensation. My god was I wrong! Now I am totally flying around the track and everything is just so smooth. No drop in framerate when surfaces changes anymore and I am starting to love the car physics, starting to think they are more realistic then the colin mcrae games which probably is right because they are mostly optimized for how we think it would feel to drive a wrc car.

But still, the sound and force feedback doesn´t feel right but still a more than okay game.
