I just went through that and it didn't say that anything was disabled or that there was any kind of error.. It all seemed fine.

I ran the setup file and all it said was "unable to collect any data. Please make sure you have Direct X 8.1 or a higher version installed."

I downloaded the latest version of Direct X and installed it as I wasn't sure which version I had and tried again and the same message came up

I forgot to mention I have Vista. I don't know if this makes a difference but yeah.

And I don't know if this helps but when I right-click and go to Personalisation and click Display Settings, this message comes up:

"The currently selected graphics display driver can not be used. It was written for a previous version of Windows and is no longer compatible with this version of Windows.

The system has been started using the default VGA driver.

Please contact your hardware manufacturer to get an upgraded driver or select one of the Microsoft provided drivers."

Then it goes to the Display Settings menu and the resolution is stuck on 800 by 600 and won't move.

On another game I play (Grand Fantasia) the screen used to go black sometimes for a minute and then return to normal. An error message would then appear in the right hand corner of the screen saying that there was an error with the display driver but that it had been fixed. I hope that helps

I wasn't sure exactly what I was supposed to be looking for so I'll just put what it says here and hope that's the right bit:

I did mention I was useless at these things *laughs*

Unfortunately I haven't kept any of the papers that came with this laptop and my mother has no idea about anything computer-related.. Is there any other way I can find out what video card I have?

There are two stickers on the front saying Windows Vista Basic and Intel Celeron inside but nothing else.

It also has a sticker on the bottom saying Notebook Computer, Model M76T and another sticker underneath that with another model number and serial number.. and a Microsoft sticker with a product key. Any of that useful?
