Try:
-locating the gameguard folder, and deleting the contents.
-Making sure your firewall lets maple through

I usually get that If I leave my computer on idle.

I can assume you have vista right? Well, allow it to go through by deleting a few safety files and maybe your next login will be fine.

No changing the regional lannguage didn't work, I tried both Canada and UK.
My computer uses PS/2 port for both mouse and keyboard.
If its anything, long time ago when i use to play Ragnorock, I had problems with my keyboard. Every time i used to play Ragnarök the next boot up my keyboard would get messed up. One of the Ragnarök GMS told me to go to the registry and delete some things can't really remember than it worked.

Hey man, you have the EXACT same story as I do. I played like 1 or 2 years ago, not rly going on nexon but wen im bored, i just log on once in a while and do some surveys for nx, just in case if i want to play maple again. so, since your story is same as mine, I dnt have to go through trouble. I have windows xp and once, i tried with game launcher and it actually got to the login screen, but i was very unlucky. My internet didnt work. So i am, right now, writing this post and im suggesting you try with game launcher. Actually, im going to try it now. ill come bak if i find the solution.
